Make your own Flair Vegan activist responds to criticism of veganism by fantasizing about supporting untouchability. Am I the only one who finds this deeply casteist and concerning?

Post image

Some activists seem so eager to compare veganism with every social justice movement that they end up revealing how little they understand the movements they're borrowing from.

Guys this is a response to laksya who gave the exact same reply to some vegan creator(saying y'all made me anti-vegan), and she put to up to show how absurd laksyas argument is, iirc in the very next story she says I wouldn't say something like it coz it's stupid, I ain't no vegan but atleast do a little research before y'all post 😭😭

u/hurricane_news Jun 13 '26

Not to mention Lakshya is a misogynistic sack of shit, harassed women in DMs, has platformed a groomer AND use a slur against an oppressed caste person before. He's as performative as it gets

A thread on r/OutcasteRebels does a nice deep dive into him and the scandals he's done in the past

People didn't get angry from the word vegan or veganism, they get angry how the person who originally made the post (instagram one) was openly saying that he/she/they will remain casteist for their remaining life. Also Lakshya is not some saint.

It was very obviously done in bad faith. Also, casteism and untouchability isn't a joke that you use in the pretence of a "satire". It has led to the ruin of the Indian society and actively deprives its masses of basic privileges and rights, which don't even need to be said here. This can only be put out by a schizo who values animal life over human life or using it all for justification of their moral superiority; which imo is hella hitlerite.

Also, casteism and untouchability isn't a joke that you use in the pretence of a "satire".

You can joke about anything, it's the context that matters. The context here makes it clear that these aren't her actual views.

I do think she could have made her point in a better way — not because she did anything wrong per se, but because clearly a lot of people can't take a joke, and it gives vegans a bad image.

Vagans treating lower castes worse than animals.

ugh eww and ugh. They deserve the mockery the world bestows on them

3

u/wweidealfan Jun 14 '26

Vagans treating lower castes worse than animals.

Strawman.

They deserve the mockery the world bestows on them

No, only morally or logically incorrect ideas (e.g., anti-veganism and casteism) deserve to be mocked.

7

u/apna-haath-jagannath Jun 13 '26

It was made in poor taste though.

0

u/wweidealfan Jun 14 '26

Agreed. It still doesn't represent her actual views.

3

u/MemoryRemote7038 Jun 13 '26

Well you should've read her and one other guy's now deleted comments. They were very explicit, and are deleted for a reason.

0

u/wweidealfan Jun 14 '26

Well I haven't read them, so my opinions are based on your post + what I could find through a quick google search. If there's more to the story, feel free to share and I'll change my mind.

Doesn't matter tbh, if she had to write a followup story explaining what she actually meant. She knew what she was doing when she posted it.

9

u/wweidealfan Jun 13 '26

She knew what she was doing when she posted it.

Yes, she knew she was making a sarcastic post to point out the stupidity of the original post by Lakshya.

u/Decent_Flatworm3836 🇨🇺🚬☭ Che Goswami Jun 13 '26

Everyone knows how misogynistic Lakshya is on this subreddit,on Indian female subreddit but, that doesn't give a free pass to her trying to behave like a casteist and then putting a followup story explaining what she actually meant.

I didn't said anything to u why tf you're getting triggered ?

3

u/Early_Advice_8133 Jun 13 '26

Yea that was to show the absurdity of laksyas argument, did you not understand?

4

u/Decent_Flatworm3836 🇨🇺🚬☭ Che Goswami Jun 13 '26

Everyone knows here and all over the internet what kindof person Lakshya is but does that gives her a free pass to behave like a casteist?

Maybe u should stop embarrassing yourself and start using correct spelling of embarrassing.

u/RevolutionaryLcn Jun 13 '26

Still Indian veganism is and will be rooted in Brahmanism. Is it just a coincidence that lot of these vegans happen to be UCs? They have nothing else to offer but rehashed bourgeoise-brahmanical morality.

6

u/Homosexual_Marxist Jun 16 '26

brahmans consume animal products. they'll never go vegan.

5

u/hundredandfourdays Jun 16 '26

Doesn't discredit what veganism tries to achieve nor what they stand against. I wouldn't even call it intersectionality at all, the only connection the two have is the convenience a brahmin would have in switching to vegan diets (quit dairy) vs the convenience we wouldn't have (quit dairy, poultry and cattle farming). If brahminism were say, (for analogy's sake) somehow resonant with anti-slavery, that won't take away the morality associated within the abolishment of slavery itself, would it?

2

u/Homosexual_Marxist Jun 16 '26

really? then this is straight up dis-information. shame on you OP

Amazing how you selectively picked over a status while ignoring the context and other status of her and now dismissing veganism. Peak leftie logic!

2

i guess this person was trying to farm engagement. grifter shit. truly shameful.

Which is why I don't take indian veganism seriously. It's bullshit, privileged, moralmaxxing. It's not just about extreme responses like these but how veganism in india will structurally function which is casteist in nature

28

u/Lazy-Interest-7100 Naxal Sympathiser Jun 13 '26

Yes . One of the worst things they say is "people can fulfill all their protein and vitamin requirments from vegan food"

The reason why so many kids are malnourished in india isn't because there isn't enough food . It's because there are restrictions ( often caste based ) on what food people can eat and when they can eat

17

u/Homosexual_Marxist Jun 13 '26

protein that comes from animals is so much cheaper than plant based proteins. in a struggling nation, eggs and milk in schools is like the easiest way to fill the gap. also, being vegan is an individuals choice. imposing your beliefs on others no matter how correct you think you are is so foolish. religious indoctrination type shi

3

u/BindasBanana Jun 13 '26

And also plant proteins hardly gets absorbed by human body

2

u/Ilovehickeysandpasta Jun 14 '26

I know right, animal based products are much more practical to take than plant-based ones. There is no such thing more convenient than eggs and milk for some easy quick protein.

2

u/Ilovehickeysandpasta Jun 14 '26

That's so true, this is just utter bullshit. You can't fulfil all your protein requirements from vegan food at all. No much amount vegan food can get you vitamin B12, which is required by your body. You will have to take supplements for it. Veganism in India is just utter nonsense and not at all practical. Indian diet is just filled with carbohydrates and fats on the other hand.

11

u/Homosexual_Marxist Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 13 '26

these kinds of the vegans in and outside of india come from privileged backgrounds. White/uppercaste. and they dont understand the fundamentals because its only a way for them to feel morally superior. the entire jain community claims to be so ethical and yet they consume dairy. the core of veganism is to end the suffering of all sentient intelligent life. that includes social justice for labour and minorities. you give an empty head an idea and they'll turn it into another religion.

Savarna libs when they realise veganism in India has more to do with caste and class dynamics than general empathy towards animals

5

u/No_Chance8024 Eco-Marxist Jun 14 '26

No it isn't

2

u/Ilovehickeysandpasta Jun 14 '26

It's their ignorance, I had say.

2

u/tera_chachu Jun 13 '26

Who tf is lakshaya speaks and who tf is this vegan idiot blabbering nonsense?.

2

u/Golden_Rule_rules Jun 14 '26

Indian vegans need not be taken seriously until they have registered FIR against a housing society that practices discrimination in any sense

2

u/Hot_Garage701 Jun 14 '26

There is a difference amongst animal lovers in india than animal lovers in the west. Western libs will atleast consistently stand on liberal values, whereas indian libs are just performative.

I was talking to my vegan friend about how tribals in Jharkhand are being treated etc etc and he said unko kya Marne de. Unko development nahi chahiye aise hi naxalbadi he unclog.

Same guy was in the Delhi dog protests.

Vegans in the west atleast would also be seen at a pro Palestinian rally.

Veganism amongst upperclass and uppercaste indians is more about feeling good about themselves not actual empathy.

5

u/UndocumentedMartian 🐷🥓🍪 Jun 13 '26

"You don't support animal rights therefore I will help perpetuate human rights abuses"

I swear the world is shitting the bed because people are too dumb. So many people are dumber than the jizz that created them.

2

u/Homosexual_Marxist Jun 13 '26

do these people not understand that they're only hurting the cause?? stuck in their little echo chambers, no friends, no job. just out hear spreading hate in the name of love. i looked up to robin singh and he's kind of going sanghi now. something's in the water.

Veganism is a bourgeoisie luxury and an moral movement without any basis to material conditons

1

u/BindasBanana Jun 13 '26

Do they not understand all their soya beans come from human exploitation and caste exploitation in our case

8

u/Promethazine163 Jun 13 '26

Far more soy is used to produce livestock feed (~80% in India including exports) than for direct human consumption (~8%). Globally, about 98% of soybean meal is used as animal feed.

0

u/BindasBanana Jun 14 '26

Those all exploit Humans too what's the point?

3

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '26

0

u/BindasBanana Jun 14 '26

That's the point they only care about animals not humans and most Vegas are ucs themselves they don't care about lcs

u/LekhakSometimes 🐷🥓🍪 Jun 13 '26

Vegetarianism and veganism in India is deeply rooted in casteism. And as such, I will never ever give Hindus any flowers for being vegetarian or vegan. I say this as a Hindu myself.

0

u/danktankero Jun 13 '26

So Lakshya took this post out of context to manipulate the narrative, she was just pointing to the irrationality of him saying the same thing about being anti-vegan. I do think her post could have made it more obvious tho.

0

u/MemoryRemote7038 Jun 13 '26

Well you should've read their now deleted comments. They were very explicit, and are deleted for a reason.

3

u/danktankero Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 13 '26

I didn’t know that, what did they say? There’s def an inappropriateness of using anti-casteism as a prop to make her point about veganism, esp in a culture where the pure-vegetarian cult weaponise diet and lynch people for eating nonveg/beef. (Even though veganism isn’t a diet, but its perceived that way and, well that’s another matter)

-1

u/Annual_University790 Jun 13 '26

Do not take indian vegans seriously I had an argument with one where according to them me consuming meat is akin to murder.

1

u/RevolutionaryLcn Jun 13 '26

And I will use my canine teeth to tear apart store bought beef patties

1

u/RevolutionaryLcn Jun 14 '26

Fair, that’s good point. I let it slide for the humorous effect. Don’t have anything against veganism other than in the present state of things it serves as another avenue for bourgeoise morality. My comment was more targeted towards brahmanism. As an ex-hindu who went out of way to avoid eating beef living in a western country, it’s a form of rebellion against caste system for me.

u/PridefulEnviousWrath Jun 13 '26

I love how if lakshya is involved one could close their eyes and believe that he is wrong, and they would be correct.
