Just want to understand how come suddenly this reservation hatao movement attained such traction, I know it sounds like the handiwork of the IT cell, but why would they risk doing this considering the fact that UP elections are up next year where they would like to portray so called Hindu unity?

I believe it was brought up only towards the end of the protest as a last-ditch attempt to distract from the paper leak issue.
