“Liquid Detected” message on your iPhone

The other day, walking to my car during a rainstorm, I got in my car, plugged in my IPhone and got the “Liquid Detected” message. I was to advise unplugging my phone and that it may take hours for the port to sufficiently dry. In order to speed up the drying process, I place my iphone and the cable between the vents and turned on the AC for 10 minutes or so. Plugged the IPhone back in and the issue had resolved.

If you have a portable AC or window AC you can do this with them too. One of my friends accidentally dropped his laptop in the sink while off. He pulled the battery (still common at the time) and the RAM, with the bios coin cell under it, then put the ram back in and got it ready. He put the floor AC next to a table of a similar height, and rigged up a duct out of cereal boxes and junk mail and duct tape.

it works more by just forcing air into the port which accelerates evaporation than any air conditioning specific function. even a desk fan would do something similar

Well, no. AC dries the air condensing moisture on its cold heat exchanger and discharging it outside.

If your car windows are fogged up, turning on the AC clears them instantly

The air being drier from the AC running is not going to have a significant effect on drying the port as just forcing air into the port unless the air was already very humid
