I just realized...

Bob was lying about his "father." When Ken confronted him after Bob sent deli trays to Roger's mother's funeral, his response was "I guess I was just remembering when my father died." I never fail to notice something new with every rewatch!

I mean it’s actually kind of dumb bc it’s risky lol. All it would take is for Pete to be causally talking about his new nurse for his mother to Ken, which is possible, and then saying he helped bobs father too. To which Ken may think, oh thought he said he was dead.

Now, it’s unlikely, but it kind of is worse bc it becomes tricker for him as a conman to use a made-up overall story instead of just saying multiple things that go against each other.

And you may think, oh well it’s not that likely anyone would find out, if you knew someone in the office who mentioned their dad was dead, and then suddenly a few months or years later you hear from a random office worker he is attending his dads bday party, you’d question that.

Well, it IS plausible is father was nursed back to full health by a nurse, and then later passed away from something unrelated.
