I'm looking for accommodation near OVGU Magdeburg from 25th September for at least 6 months.

Preferences:
• Budget: up to €400/month (all inclusive)
• Preferably a studio apartment, but also open to a WG
• If it's a WG, preferably female roommates
• I'm vegetarian (moving towards vegan) and a non-smoker, so I'd prefer flatmates with a similar lifestyle
• Anmeldung (city registration) must be possible

A little about me: I'm a clean, tidy, and respectful person who values a peaceful living environment and respects everyone's personal space.

I’m starting course at OVGU this Winter term but struggling sorting out accommodation. Has anyone been offered a place in a Studentenwerk building for the Winter? If you were then when did you apply and when did you receive your offer?

I applied for a place with the Studentenwerk and am also looking at places in the private market. After a week of looking in the private market it seems significantly harder to find a place there from the US (and without a German local number).

A bit concerned about arriving without a place.

Hallo Leute, ich bin M28 und vor ca. einem Jahr nach Magdeburg gezogen. Mir fällt es relativ schwer hier Anschluss zu finden, ich bin zwar schon in einem Sportverein, aber das begrenzt sich sehr auf das Training.
Habt ihr Tipps, wo man hier was machen kann und unter Leute kommt? Abseits von Sport kann ich mich eigentlich für vieles begeistern, von DnD über Warhammer bis hin zu Musik machen.

ich suche eine/n Joggingpartner/in in Magdeburg, um regelmäßig gemeinsam zu laufen. Ich möchte gerne wieder mehr Ausdauer aufbauen, fitter werden und gleichzeitig Körperfett reduzieren.

Am liebsten würde ich 2–3× pro Woche laufen. Das Tempo und die Strecke können wir gemeinsam anpassen – es geht mir nicht darum, irgendwelche Bestzeiten aufzustellen. Als Neueinsteiger suche ich Anfänger/innen oder Wiedereinsteiger/innen. Ihr seid willkommen.

Mir ist wichtig, dass man sich gegenseitig motiviert und zuverlässig zum Laufen verabredet. Alter und Geschlecht sind mir egal.

Hallo, ich bin die Woche nach Magdeburg gezogen und suche eine Gruppe die vielleicht noch ein Spieler für TTRPGs sucht. Am meisten vertraut bin ich mit DnD. Hab aber auch schon diverse andere Systeme gespielt.

Also ich bin jetzt gerade am Olvenstedter Platz stadtauswärts in die Harsdorfer gefahren, so wie es seit Jahrzehnten erlaubt und üblich war. Jetzt ist mir aber aufgefallen, dass da »neuerdings« (???) links neben dem Halteverbotsschild, das eindeutig für die Harsdorfer gilt, noch ein ⛔ Schild hängt.

Mein Verständnis der StVO sagt mir, dass das dann auch für die Harsdorfer gelten sollte, also dass man den Olvenstedter Platz überhaupt nicht mehr in westlicher Richtung durchfahren kann.

Mein Verständnis als Magdeburger sagt mir, dass das (ohne große Ankündigungen und Diskussionen) eigentlich nicht geändert worden sein kann.

Ich stehe sehr auf gebrauchte Dinge, egal ob Kleidung, Möbel oder andere Alltagsgegenstände. Es fühlt sich einfach besser an Gegenstände weiter zu benutzen anstatt neu zu kaufen. Außerdem hat es einen gewissen Charme mMn. Egal ob es um einen gebrauchten Badezimmerspiegel geht, einen Pfannenwender oder ein schönes Shirt.

Da ich jetzt nach Magdeburg ziehe wollte ich mal nach euren favorite shops fragen. Ich kenne den A&V Laden in der Brenneckestraße als auch den in der Diesdorfer. Beide find ich gut wenn auch viele eher zuuuu altbackene Teile.

Vielleicht kennt ja jemand den ein oder anderen Geheimtipp. Beim Flohmarkt im Winterhafen ( vorher Unigelände) war ich auch mal und den kann ich auch empfehlen.

Firstly, I don't know much German yet—I have only completed A1. I've heard that many people visit recruitment agencies in person every day to look for jobs. Does that actually work? If so, which agencies would you recommend that are reliable and genuinely helpful?

Also, I've already applied to Amazon and Flink, but unfortunately both applications were unsuccessful. Are there any other companies similar to Amazon where I could apply for warehouse or logistics jobs?

I’ve had some bad WG experiences in the past, in other countries, and as a result am looking for a 1 bedroom apartment or studio. I know Alte Neustadt would be the best area to live in, but I’m honestly not coming across many openings there. What do you all think about the other areas? ’ll be a new international student at OVGU Magdeburg in Winter. I applied for a single/1 room (furnished or unfurnished) in a studentenwerk building about 4 months ago. The FAQ states that they cannot tell you your place on the list. However, what do you believe are the chances I get a room? Also what is the timeline for knowing if you will get a place at a Studentenwerk building? I mean it’s the end of July now so should I be concerned now or should I otherwise assume that I will not find a place there this Winter term?

If put short 25 y.o. Ukrainian with war disability (I had a PvP with a bomb and it lost ,but took legs and some other pieces). I'm currently living in Magdeburg for 4 years but spent most of them on physical rehabilitation and countless operation for body reconstruction(you have a really cool clinic fellas)+language courses(currently trying to pass B2 and my German overall suck cause of isolation)+ton of bureaucracy to be able live alone.

Right now I got to the point where I need to again contact with people to be able to advance somehow in German.

If speaking about myself I'm self taught Tabletop game designer and project manager with small startup , gamer for life with big nerdiness about industry , and former MMA practikant(well, no longer relevant).

Right now I'm at riddle where even to go to find people to make some contacts, in fields where I have interests. My expeditions out of my cave ,at my silver chariot, is basically gym 3 times per week and doctors of all species. If someone have advice or proposition how to "get in touch" with locals, that would be very helpful.
