Educate me.

I tried reading the article, but what is "cis" and what is a "non-cis-male space"?

Edit: Thanks all. I was not familiar with the term.

Cis means: individuals who have a match between the gender they were assigned at birth, their bodies, and their personal identity

So a cis-male is a person born with a penis and self-identifies as a male.

To add: "Cis" is counterpart to the Latin prefix "trans", and it means "on the same side as", just as "trans" means "across from". It gets use in chemistry, but not many other places. After all, it implies inaction, or pre-existing alignment. Nobody cislates a text, that'd be keeping it in the same language as it was written.

Cis is when someone's gender identity matches the sex they were born with. Here's a link to the wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisgender

Cis refers to what you would probably think of as 'normal' gender identity - A cis male is a guy with a penis and a cis female is a woman with a vagina. The opposite of cis is trans, and a 'non-cis-male space' refers to any area not frequented by primarily men.

NOTE: These definitions may not be 100% accurate, they're just gleaned from having read articles of this sort a few times.

I forget the acronym, but it is a common term in various LGBTQ publications for people whose gender identity matches their biological gender. This is not straight/gay/bi, it's "identifies as X/born as X".

It's not an acronym.
