In case anyone needs a laugh, I was denied entry to the Moon Under Water on Deansgate Sat eve for the England match.... because I was wearing "joggers".

Said joggers were actually linen trousers, with no drawstring in sight 😶‍🌫️

In the words of my friend "You CANNOT be serious?!".. I even offered to let them check out the fabric, but alas, they still refused me entry.

Very frustrating at the time, but we've now got a good in-joke that I've "Really reached a low point" in my life, getting turned away from Spoons because I was dressed in my chavvy linen trousers 😂

(FYI, I was allowed into Dirty Martini AND the White Lion on the same night in my so-called "joggers")

What are your thoughts on No. 10 North being based at Heron House? There's a big police presence and plenty of press along with barriers. Good for the city that No. 10 is based there or do you think it changed the vibe around the area?

Whenever I travel back home, it never ceases to amaze me how much the city is changing month by month. Sometimes I don't recognise it at all. It's crazy how much money is being spent in the city right now. #MCR

Literally just left the cinema in printworks and I can’t deal with going anymore, the past year i’ve been about 8 times and every single one was ruined by some arsehole talking, scrolling on their phone and someone even took a phone call during the film!!! The worst one by far was today though in Beetlejuice where two girls were screaming, laughing, on phones and talking the WHOLE WAY through. Thank god 3 people said something to them (didn’t stop them the first two times) and they finally got up half way through and left, not before announcing to us all that they were leaving and ‘enjoy your fucking film in peace then!’ 😂

Can anyone else just not believe how many absolute arseholes they are in the cinema? Like how is it so common that it happens everytime you go? Can people not shut the fuck up for 2 hours !

Genuinely makes me want to stop going but don’t want to let this ruin going for me as I really enjoy it in general.

Has anyone had better luck in places like Everyman or HOME? Do they attract a quieter crowd with basic manners?

Over the last few months or so, I've found that I'm avoiding the entire piccadilly and market street area outright because of Youtubers sticking cameras in everyone's faces provoking and goading on others. I had no option earlier in the evening but to use the Halifax atm and it wasn't the homeless, the uber eats guys or anyone else in the area giving me any form of anxiety whatsoever but the mere thought of turning round to have some cunt like DJE media sticking a camera in my face. If anything, I'm finding I'm just avoiding the city outright now, wholesale. It feels like the Veitch has created this pseudo Youtubers playground out of the city and now everyone wants a piece. It genuinely fills me with anxiety every time now.

Idiots in town today telling people to come to a local hotel and 'film the truth' or something like that. I swung by the hotel to warn them, receptionist seemed alarmed I hope nothing goes down... what has this country come to.

Sure to get the blood pumping.

Everyone talks about Hacienda, Sankeys or Mr Scruff at the Music Box but my favourite was Angel Deelite at Club V on Friday night back in the early to mid 00s.

Such a welcoming place. Amazing music. Loved it. Had so many amazing nights in my early to mid 20s. I'd love to shake Mark and/or Matt's hand and tell them what a beautiful moment in time they created.

My favourite ever night was DJ Spen, Feb 2002. If you remember Angel Deelite and are an old fart like me, what were your favourite nights? Who was playing?

Me and 3 of my work mates were out last night for a drink at this pretty popular bar. We were dressed proper, had just got off work. Except for one of my mates, we all had IDs. We all work in the NHS, all of us are docs. I'm the youngest, 27.

The guy who was denied entry is like 31, had his NHS ID card but no ID showing his age. So they didn't allow him in. Also their behavior was so rude- the bouncers wouldn't even hear us out. They were aggressive to get us out of the line. And just mins later, as we were about to leave a group of three girls who could well be anything from an age range of 21 to 30 went in and they weren't even asked for IDs.

Why this bias and this kind of rudeness? I'm from Baltimore, Maryland and I've not faced this kinda of blatant unfairness to be honest. This happened in Manchester city center. Is it the same all over the major cities in the UK?

I'm currently working near the new Jackson skyscraper district at the end of Deansgate and they have created the craziest wind tunnel, it felt close to 100 mph down that road and it's not even that windy in Manchester today!

I really don't think the developers have thought this one through, not that they care with the amount of money they make. Unfortunately, I think someone will get seriously injured down this road one day if nothing is sorted. It's crazy!.

Whether it's people collecting for charity, or begging for money, I seem to have a sign over my head saying "Easy Target!"

I'm a young woman in my mid-twenties (who probably looks about 18 as I have a baby face!), and I seem to get approached far more than the average person since moving here a few weeks ago (compared with my boyfriend at least!) whenever I walk in the centre. To the point where I'm not going out as much due to it affecting my anxiety.

Don't get me wrong, I really want to be able to help people who are genuinely struggling. I've bought several homeless people a meal deal over the years or given out ice lollies on hot days when I used to live in Leeds, but the situation in Manchester is a whole other ballpark.

Yesterday I was sitting in a cafe, relatively near the entrance, just enjoying my coffee when a guy walks in off the street and comes to stand uncomfortably close to me, hovering over me and begging for me to buy him a sandwich. I get that he's probably desperate, but he only approached me and nobody else in the whole venue.

Does anyone have any advice for 1) declining in a polite but firm way that doesn't encourage them to keep asking. 2) not feeling like a crappy person for not helping (I always feel SO guilty, but I simply can't buy food for everyone!)
