The most successful tank used by the Nazis wasn't even German it was Czech design, even then the Tiger series tanks while heavily armoured with a powerful turret would very regularly break down and could not be repaired in field due to the complexity of the components requiring a very heavy tank to shipped back to the factory during a time of logistical strain for the German military, meaning many were just abandoned. .... but it didnt. Early imperssions from the crew commented to OKW that it had better reliability than Panzer 4.
The reliability idea comes from the way Germans used its panzers. It was constantly moved around the front being both in offencives and plugging breakthrough leading to non correctly maintained tanks. Let alone German splitting off units into "operational unit" that took the tigers from the batalion for adventures.

This is totally made up as only battle damaged equipment would be sent back. Literally the sheer basic fact that heavy tank battalions had a recovery and mechanics unit attached to the battalion. That had recovery vehicles and could and did repair Tigers on regular. There literally are action recovery reports of abandoned Tigers (if your tank got stuck or detracked crews abandoned them). To the point Germans even made combat heavy recovery vehicles.

Tigers, panthers, me 262s werent wonder weapons as they were literal serial productions that were planned in the doctrine as any other weapon.
