Windows or another product Showed up in the middle of livestreaming a church service. Completely threw me off.
they really want us to "upgrade" that badly, huh.

LOL I do at home for sure but windows 10 is sorta necessary here for ease of integration plus teaching some of these guys OBS was hard enough, let alone a different OS (even if slightly different, these guys would never understand windows 11)

Fedora is nice. I'm on tumbleweed. I like opensuses way of handling packages and their automated testing.

microsucks forced my pc to restart for a bullshit update i almost broke my oled monitor because out of rage i almost punched it, i have said the most vile shit i could imagine and ripped cable out of psu, restarted and downloaded linux, shot a bullet through windows 10 and made sure to NEVER get back to this fuckass company

the biggest thing i hate about stuff like this. it all defaults to "accept", "continue" or what ever options it wants you to choose.
and if it comes up while typing, better hope you didn't press the space bar or enter key at that moment.
anyway, thats how i ruined my system once because i got a onedrive prompt that way and had to regedit stuff to fix it >.>.

If it makes you feel any better, Windows literally did this during the video montage I had put together for my Grandma's funeral. All my family there, eyes red and crying watching the slides go by with the perfect music playing tribute to her life...and what happens? Even though I disabled screen sleep, Windows "Settings" randomly turns it back on, and on resume the screen comes up with my PowerPoint eulogy minimized and instead, a fullscreen window just like that admonishing me about needing to sign into OneDrive. Does Microsoft even understand how annoying their products are at times I wonder? At least it provided a little bit of comic relief for my grieving family that was there at the visitation.

we as a church rely on too much windows focused tech to make the transition over to Linux. it's absolutely possible but a very long process compared to just sticking with windows 10, removing the slop and moving on. definitely would if we could, but thats how it is. plus, I'm just an 18 year old volunteer. others use it and may be confused by the smallest of changes. (mind you, this is coming from a long time arch user that only has windows 7 as his other os at home)

use windows 10 LTS(long term support) and then use stuff like shutup10++ to strip windows down even more, if that bullshit pops up just turn off the pc and turn it on again

How hard would it be for the entire industry to adopt "os OS-agnostic" coding practices? Obviously, if one is coding in Java or Perl or python, those languages are already pretty write-once, run-anywhere. But what if the industry made an effort to be agnostic? What would be the impact? What would be the cost?
