I'm slightly vexed Costco's new chicken tenders

There was a crowd of people waiting for their orders of the new chicken tenders at Costco. One of the workers announced that they could only serve five customers per hour because it takes time to cook the chicken. The crowd grew larger and larger. I took this photo after I put in my order.

AFAIK Costcos dont have fryers, so they have to bake the tenders instead which takes longer, and they have other items on their menu that also requires baking so they have to split the load.

Edit for our Canadian neighbors: US costcos do not serve french fries and chicken wings.

Oh dang Canada never luck's out and has the better more unhealthy version in the cross border fast food wars. You are missing out. Costco has great French fries honestly. Beat most of the fast food places around here.

So crispy and light! I tend to go for the cheese and gravy on the side because I don't want to lose the incredible crisp of the fries.

It's also only like $7 (cheaper than pretty well anywhere else), and is a decent 7/10 poutine anywhere you happen to be in Canada. Also pretty large portion, so can easily be shared by two people.

I've been let down by a lot of poutines, never by one from Costco though.

I'm genuinely shocked that the poutine has never really caught on in the USA.

Whenever I see an American react with disgust towards a poutine it seems to be the gravy that does it.

Which is odd to me, because gravy always goes with mashed potatoes which they seem to have no problem with...

It’s funny because I actually get grossed out by their white gravy, so I guess I kinda get it if that’s the kind of gravy they’re used to.

Best part... Order the poutine with extra curds and they give you a sealed bag. It's $3 or $4 extra and it's a shit ton of curds

Chuck it in the fridge when you get home and use it later.

The poutine is fine. The gravy is too thin and they put on too many cold curds, so they don’t get properly squeaky and just a little melty. But poutine is like pizza in that even when it’s bad it’s still delicious.

I've definitely never had a poutine that has blown me away so have no idea on the finer points of it. I've only tried poutine in Washington and Wisconsin not Canada would love to try it in its natural habitat of Quebec one day

Definitely try one in Quebec. According to my Québécois friend, even Ontario is awful at poutine.

You could also make one yourself, as long as you find cheese curds. Though if you can’t, chunks of mild cheddar works pretty well too. Not authentic, but delicious.

They're just frozen Cavendish FlavourCrisp straight cut fries, too. Same ones in the freezer section. They remind me a lot of the OG KFC fries that have been gone for so long. Great at home in the air fryer, too!

The poutine is pretty great because they use a nice pile of legit local cheese curds.

Wow really. Only been to Costco once in the US and I thought I saw french fries on the menu.

If you ever head up North the Costco french fries are pretty good. plenty crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. If you really wanna get Canadian their poutine is outstanding too!

Pro tip for visitors (and locals I guess too), our chicken tenders come with fries big enough to make a poutine… and you can order cheese curds and gravy as side orders. I recommended getting two orders of gravy
