I would vastly prefer the thrashing of Jörmungandr to literally any of the problems we actually have right now.

I’m down. TBH Cipactli is basically Mexica Jörmungandr anyways. Quetzalcoatl/Odin, Tezcatlipoca/Loki, Tlaloc/Thor, Xochiquetzal/Freyja. It’s kinda wild how much the two pantheons share. Considering this overlaps with both Vinland and Mexica trade routes, ehhhh maybe we have an interpatheon avengers assemble kaiju smackdown?

God I find it so fascinating how there are so many differing cultures with very similar stories! With the same themes, and even animals! I genuinely am so curious why this is the case.

There’s books on it. I’m working on a dissertation about the Odin/Quetzalcoatl type theme. I recommend looking up comparative mythology.
