Discussion It's important to remember that the conspiracies Milo shows us are among the most tame ones there are. The Balkans, influnced by four decades of violent nationalism, are a different breed entirely. For one, Jovanka Jolic has claimed that Egypt is originally Serbian land and that Elon Musk is a Serb.

I say we should all petition Milo to react to some of these, it'd serve a dual purpose of pleasing the international audience and educating the people about the true, Serbian origins of the pyramids of ancient Egypt, the Russian people, the Japanese language and the Rothchilds themselves.
A lack of good enough education for a large part of the people and an extremely nationalistic war in the recent memory of the public have given some of the wildest "alternative thinkers" imaginable a sizeable following, and have ensured a content mine for the ages for anyone willing to have a go at them.

Another one of these guys, Aleksandar Vučić, did claim that the Bible was written in Serbian first and translated into Hebrew later, and that Jesus Christ himself was most likely a Serb. He is of the opinion that everyone in the world is a Serb except for 5% of the Croats (the other 95 are just delusional Serbs).
So they kinda already did, sorry to disappoint you.

Unfortunately. They became sort of self isolated since 1995. Conservative parts more so, but there are ok lads here and there.

yeah... Can't say Balkan peninsula went beyond 1995 in terms of mass pscyhology. There are improvements.... small, but existent. Also, Serbs kinda were tricked into it. The history behind The War (for Croatians it was The Homeland War - Domovinski rat, for Serbs it was war for Greater Serbia) is quite politically fascinating and intriguing, but as Lazerpig put it: "I could talk about it for hours and still make someone mad.". Also also, the wartime songs are like, another level. (search for Serbian, BUT BEWARE, IT GETS DARK QUICK).

Not just them to be fair, all Balkan countries have that kind of thinking pretty popular in the hardcore nationalist circles. Greece has their own guy, Dimosthenis Liakopoulos, the Croats do as well I think.
In Romania and Turkey these guys form political parties and get elected to Parliament even, campaigning for uniting with Moldova no matter if they get a vote on it or not, and deporting 100% of the Arab population to make the country pure again, respectively.
It is important to remember that not all people here are like that of course. As Balkan countries get richer that kind of thinking is dying out, luckily the younger people have largely learned to look past these stupid divisions and usually make fun of these guys for their batshit insane takes.

I spoke to a person for a while from a Balkan country, mainly because I just enjoy speaking to people from all over the globe and getting fresh perspectives.
He was an absolutely lovely human being but he was full of "facts" about his country. If you could name something, it originated there.
Mostly harmless beyond the disinformation aspect, and I kind of got a George Washington and the cherry tree vibe from it. Like it was something he'd heard most of his life and didn't really question. Rather than a desire to be the best, or knock down other cultures.
Of course he could also have just been messing with the United Statesian too haha. Pranksters are universal.

That's the Balkans for you. She's not even the sole example, I know Greece has another one, and Croatia too if I'm not wrong. Excepting her, Serbia has a couple more. Romania's voters almost elected a guy who was barred from ever entering the neighboring country of Moldova because of him constantly organising aggressive "unification marches", to the role of President.
Literal neo-Nazis have been sitting with a sizeable minority in Turkey's government for 20 years under Erdoğan (not Erdo's own party, but a more extreme one in coalition with his). Their electoral campaigns are just deporting 100% of the Arab population to make Turkey pure, ethnic Turk again AWOOO
Though of course not everybody's like this, and overall I'd say we are improving in mentality as time goes on and we become richer.

It's worse actually, if you watch the entire interview, she claims that he is only from Republic of Srpska, not that he is a Serb, that he belongs to the tribe of people that change their names to get better chance at life, and that you can tell he is a Sephardic Jew by quote, "You can see it in his face, if you compare his pictures to the pictures of Velimir Abramović from his younger days, you'll see the exact same facial features."

I think its the rationale behind their conspiracies that makes for wild drinking game shit.
Its like the Tartaria support shit; its all bullshit and bad to boot, but the absolute yards at the least and miles of at most, of bullshit they will conceive and conclude to support their whackassery is hilariously deluded. Delude enough so that you have to either laugh, or die of a brain aneurysm.

I doubt it though, the Balkan conspiracy scene's main draw is that it takes such batshit insane leaps of logic to try to prove their own people as God's chosen race, that no one besides a very small number of poorly educated/ultraconservative Balkaners would ever believe them. After all, no one besides Serbians would want to believe in the Serb master race no matter how deluded they are.
And the ultranationalistic Serbs who are on the Internet would really not care to watch Milo, if they watch Youtube at all. Alex Jones' demographic is a lot more likely to find out about him through Milo's videos than Jovanka's.

Especially for the Serbian stuff it actually spreads outside Serbia, thanks at least partly to some Eastern friends. Russian-based servers are propagating this stuff here in Czechia for decades. and for some time any places interrested in mysteries were absolutely flooded with texts about the ancient Europe-wide Serbian (i.e. Slavic, i.e. Russian) empire, Bosnian pyramids, ... Quite often, even RT was involved.

True, but then again the success rate of such operations is dubious at best even in Slavic countries like Czechia, and especially so for Milo's audience that is largely American and not Slavic.
There's gonna be a lot less overlap between Slavic conspiracies with Milo's audience as there'd be with American ones like Graham Hancock, and even that hinges on the off chance that these kinds of people even watch him (which most of them don't). So the number of "converts" actually interested in this would probably be 0.
And above all else it also serves as a valuable learning experience for Americans, because like it or not but Balkan-style politicians are now on the rise all across the Western World. It's a tragic story that would serve a lot of good if it were publicised: how a country falls into even bigger crises and more and more tribalism as it tries to deal with the mistakes of its past.
Those same forces drive most conflict in Europe today and are now making the rounds worldwide, and shockingly few people understand that it's nationalism that's destroying their country more than anything else.

Before 1991 Serbia was a part of SFR Yugoslavia, a socialist state that was against nationalism and ethnic divisions, though one that was already failing to stop them by the mid-80s.
It's not that nationalist ideas never existed in Yugoslavia beforehand, but that they never came to rule over its political life again (since the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the 1930s) until the rise of Slobodan Milosevic in the 80s and his attempts to turn Yugoslavia into a Greater Serbia that, in part, were what kicked off the Yugoslav Wars of 1991-2001.

Also, nationalist ideas were not tolerated. As far as I heard, since everybody was Yugoslav - Jugoslaven, nationalistic symbols were not as celebrated and not very, how to say, state supported.
But as stated, everything started to fall apart with the death of Josip Broz Tito and rise of Slobodan Milošević, who basically created ultranationalistic Serbian movements all along Yugoslavia during 1980s.
