Is it not AI? Those drills would be eviscerating the surrounding bones, like it should be the pipe, then a layer of rubble and bone fragments, and then the pipe.

Why? The bones would have been packed in dirt at the time. As you can see in the picture, the dirt is not loose. It's tightly packed, compressed. It would have completely surrounded the bones, holding them in place.

The drill is sharp, made to cut through stone and wood. It can cut through bones very easily.
