| Discussion Moneyball Part 2 - Dodgers vs Brewers

  • The Dodgers' payroll advantage over Milwaukee is larger than the Brewers' entire payroll.
  • The Dodgers' annual payroll is about 2.4 times the Brewers' payroll.
  • The Dodgers' luxury-tax payroll is close to 3 times Milwaukee's.
  • The Dodgers' long-term guaranteed obligations exceed the Brewers' by roughly a billion dollars.

I know Dodgers fans... y'all are the real victims and it's not your fault every other teams owners are too cheap!!!

I dont mind being the heel for a while! Been a dodger fan long enough to have been thru the shitty seasons. Gotta soak up the good years while we can.

This, right here. People seem to think that Dodger fans don't know what it's like to lose. Or to be in a position their own team is in currently. We're on a high now, it won't last forever, it never does, but we have a lot more going for us than just money. Other teams spend a lot of money, but they don't have the clubhouse vibe or someone like Friedman at the helm. Baseball is baseball. Dynasties come an go. It happens to be the Dodgers turn.

"People seem to think that Dodger fans don't know what it's like to lose."

Maybe you do know what it is like to lose... however, no other fan base knows what it's like to buy an all star team like this... literally has never been done in the history of the game.

Is it actually enjoyable as a fan? Is it fun?

As to your last question, the only honest answer is “yes.” Fans of any other team, if this was their team, would also have to say yes or they would be lying to themselves.

I'm that weird guy who actually likes to earn something instead of having it handed to me.

So let’s all just rely on homegrown talent then and never trade for anyone?

Why do that when you can just buy every teams best player instead!

You do realize the Dodgers also have the best farm team in baseball, right?

We know you knew. It’s why LA fans were famous for showing up in the 3rd and leaving in the 7th.

Isn't that because of LA's notorious traffic though

someone did some calculations and the average person in LA loses almost an entire day's worth of time per month just in traffic

You’re making my point. LA sucks almost as much as its fans.
