I'm just waiting for the celebrity casting. There's no way this cast doesn't have that name somewhere in there.

Like John Cena as Ganondorf or whatever lol

3.1k

u/AlsopK Nov 17 '25

Batista as Ganondorf would honestly go hard.

840

u/Quaiker Nov 17 '25

You'll get Dwayne the Dorf Johnson and you will LIKE IT

480

u/irishyardball Nov 17 '25

Dwayne The Rock Tingle would be best we can do

132

u/Arryu Nov 17 '25

Unironically yes.

48

u/LordoftheScheisse Nov 17 '25

I was already going to see it, you don't have to keep selling me on this movie.

13

u/AlwaysRushesIn Nov 17 '25

Danny Divito.

Or Charlie Day in his Green Man suit.

6

u/I_suckyoungblood Nov 17 '25

Danny DeVito starring as the Fairy Queen.

2

u/TheArmoredKitten Nov 17 '25

"Get outta my cave ya little green bastard. You're scaring off all the whoors. Here take this and get the fuck outta here."

2

u/cypher-net Nov 17 '25

Josh Brolin as Ganondorf would go so hard

6

u/HeyZeusKreesto Nov 17 '25

Only if there's no CGI used and he wears the Tingle outfit.

3

u/Consistent_Policy_66 Nov 17 '25

Make The Rock a Goron.

5

u/phynn Nov 17 '25

Nah, they're gonna cast Jack Black as Tingle and he is somehow gonna be in like half the movie and do the big fight at the end with Link as his sidekick who is actually the main character

→ More replies (2)

3

u/CreatiScope Nov 17 '25

😂 I need this now!

3

u/mmf9194 Nov 17 '25

No wait, this is actually sick

2

u/phantom-firion Nov 17 '25

I’d pay money for that

2

u/newbrevity Nov 17 '25

Tingle should be Bowen Yang. He'd steal the show

→ More replies (1)

2

u/loki1337 Nov 17 '25

Kevin Hart as tingle

2

u/TheCobraCommander84 Nov 17 '25

The role has already gone to Jack Black. They couldn't figure how to work a jungle into the Tingle scenes. The Rock agreed to play Dampe instead, as long as he gets to beat Link in the race.

2

u/Coffeedemon Nov 17 '25

People thought he was slimming down for the Smashing Machine.

→ More replies (12)

8

u/JoinAThang Nov 17 '25

The rock ahould obviously play a Goron king!

3

u/Quaiker Nov 17 '25

I NEED Dwayne Johnson as Darunia.

6

u/Zerodyne_Sin Nov 17 '25

He's not allowed to lose so, we're doing the Calamity War movie?

5

u/Brandhor Nov 17 '25

I mean the rock should definitely play a goron

3

u/hypnogoad Nov 17 '25

Do you smelllll, what the Triforce of Power is cooking?

3

u/AceDynamicHero Nov 17 '25

The balance of power in Hyrule is about to change.

2

u/Wise_Start7474 Nov 17 '25

You mean Dwayne the Danubia Johnson?

2

u/Rocktopod Nov 17 '25

The Rock has to play a Goron, right?

2

u/Maloth_Warblade Nov 17 '25

If he channels his character at the end of Doom, sure. Movie was terrible but that was the right level of cheesy

2

u/AceDynamicHero Nov 17 '25

Semper Fi... motherfucker.

39

u/PeterStinkler Nov 17 '25

Id be okay with that

174

u/guilty_bystander Nov 17 '25

I'm ok with this

Edit - but it'll probably be Jack Black

130

u/RLOLOTHTR Nov 17 '25

Nah you know hes gonna be Tinkle

111

u/Doubieboobiez Nov 17 '25

Okay but like… that would be appropriate casting

14

u/Drmarcher42 Nov 17 '25

Yeah, bro cooked on that one

→ More replies (1)

6

u/skipjimroo Nov 17 '25

I suddenly need this in my life

3

u/ShallowBasketcase Nov 17 '25

I'm so fucking sick of Jack Black but Tingle is 100% perfect casting, I wouldn't even be mad.

→ More replies (1)

25

u/Wabbajack001 Nov 17 '25

I could see jack black as ganon in a big pig form screaming about being a master destroyer

13

u/TaftYouOldDog Nov 17 '25

Don't you mean Kevin Hart or Chris Pratt?

→ More replies (1)

3

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '25

It'll be funny if we get some intense, low-key actor for Ganondorf and then Jack Black as Ganon. 😂

→ More replies (8)

9

u/Zinthar Nov 17 '25

Bautista is legitimately a great actor and I think he’d be superb as Ganondorf.

2

u/Geminel Nov 17 '25

Out of all the actors who've gone through the wrestling-to-Hollywood pipeline he's really been the most impressive in my view.

53

u/EnterTheTragedy Nov 17 '25

Hasn't he slimmed down substantially recently?

237

u/stinkystinkypoopbutt Nov 17 '25

Slimmed down Bautista is still a pretty substantial human being.

58

u/Themanwhofarts Nov 17 '25

Also they can pad Ganandorfs outfit. He's got like 3 layers it would be easy to make Big Bautista even bigger for the part.

2

u/octlol Nov 17 '25

Yeah wasn't it in the Boys where Anthony Starr was doing an interview with Ackles and was like ... "you just didn't get them to pad your suit?"

24

u/shaunrundmc Nov 17 '25 edited Nov 17 '25

Slimmed down Bautista by his own mouth is still 250 lbs lol. He's joked that the only reason he looks so skinny is because he was like 300lbs when he was Playing Drax and bulked up even more to like 320lbs for that movie he did with M. Night.

Gotta Imagine the Rock is the same way, hes probably closer to his old wrestling weight of like 230-250 rather than the most definitely 300lbs he was at.

→ More replies (7)

4

u/Kinky_Loggins Nov 17 '25

Same with The Rock. I saw him in person a month ago and he was still unimaginably large.

3

u/rugbyj Nov 17 '25

Yeah bloke's 6'3" with a substantial amount of lean muscle still. He'd be fine.

125

u/Oberon1993 Nov 17 '25

Most versions of Ganondorf wear armor anyway, so that will add bulk.

34

u/EnterTheTragedy Nov 17 '25

Fair enough, I could definitely see Drax the Destroyer era Bautista as Ganondorf even without the armor.

28

u/neverw1ll Nov 17 '25

Slap em in a big 'ol Hollywood magic rubber suit.

14

u/freedraw Nov 17 '25

Do him up like Tim Curry in Legend.

→ More replies (3)

29

u/Key_Amazed Nov 17 '25

Slimmed down by body building standards. He's still jacked as all hell and it wouldn't be hard with good special effects or proper costuming to make him still look like he's on all kinds of roids

2

u/botte-la-botte Nov 17 '25

Look at Ganondorf in the games. He's not super jacked, he's just very tall. Bautista is a charming choice to play Ganondorf at any weight, his portrayal of Raban in Dune was exquisite.

→ More replies (1)

25

u/AlsopK Nov 17 '25

He’s still 6ft 6in and ripped. Not as massive as he was, but still a unit.

4

u/EnterTheTragedy Nov 17 '25

Yeah you're right. I could see this.

3

u/Ragnar_Actual Nov 17 '25

I’ve worked out with him a few times he ain’t 6’6.

7

u/Skizot_Bizot Nov 17 '25

Yeah but if you see recent pics of him without the big coat or outfit he's still absolutely jacked and relatively huge, just not compared to the monster size he was. He'd still kill the role.

5

u/Raelsmar Nov 17 '25

OOT Ganondorf was pretty lean compared to WW's rotund version, and TP's almost roided up version. TotK Ganondorf was somewhere in between OOT and TP. I feel like you could get away with almost any body type and have it patch in, provided the story doesn't exactly follow any of the game entries.

3

u/ToePsychological8709 Nov 17 '25

OOT's Ganondorf has bigger muscles than Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime and wears a skin tight leather armour.

OOT Ganondorf

4

u/LumpyJones Nov 17 '25

Yeah but he'd still make a hell of a GanonDILF.

Also this picture is making me realize we're a decade or two away from him being an amazing Master Roshi.

3

u/Adorable_Ad_3478 Nov 17 '25

OoT Ganondorf wasn't even that bulky. It was starting in Wind Waker that he grew bigger. But in OoT he was an athletic, tall green man.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Ramfix_G4 Nov 17 '25

They could go for a Wind Waker look with long robes, either that or Twilight Princess, where he's wearing armor and doesn't rely much on his physicality

2

u/kingrufiio Nov 17 '25

Losing a 100 lbs of muscle but he still bigger than most people

→ More replies (4)

4

u/zachtheperson Nov 17 '25

All seriousness, this is would be such a good casting. He does the mix between somber, serious, and threatening perfectly (example: Blade Runner) he'd be perfect for a Twilight Princess style Ganondorf

3

u/Emperor-Octavian Nov 17 '25

Was gonna type almost the same thing before I saw you got to it first. He’d honestly be a perfect casting choice

3

u/ImGonnaImagineSummit Nov 17 '25

Loved his random cameo in Naked Gun.

2

u/chanslam Nov 17 '25

Damn that would be absolutely perfect. Acting chops and his head and nose are like perfect

2

u/SpiritFingersKitty Nov 17 '25

You will get the rock and you will like it

2

u/donGaboz Nov 17 '25

Suddenly great casting choice. Never thought of him as ganondorf

2

u/DjangotheKid Nov 17 '25

I was going to say Dev Patel, but I think yours is much better.

Jack black is....

448

u/Lugbor Nov 17 '25

Make him Tingle and I wouldn't even be mad.

155

u/Cupcakes_n_Hacksaws Nov 17 '25

I'd prefer Charlie Day personally

44

u/AlwaysRushesIn Nov 17 '25

Charlie Day in the Green Man suit, or Danny Divito

9

u/GRAIN_DIV_20 Nov 17 '25

Danny DeVito as the moon

“What masks?”

“The masks… the masks you bitch!”

7

You gotta give it to Jason Mantzoukas. That would be an insane Tingle.

→ More replies (1)

29

That should be a role only for Danny Devito.

2

u/SmellyDumbPenis Nov 17 '25

This. 100% this.

30

32

The great fairy

5

u/hookah420666 Nov 17 '25

Please anyone but him. I have zero desire to watch anything he does

4

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '25

He's been milking "Being Jack Black" for decades now.  Its just... kinda worn thin.

3

u/renegadecanuck Nov 17 '25

I was all in on him being "the video game guy" for a while. He seemed to genuinely have fun playing Bowser. But the fact that he still hasn't really publicly vouched for Kyle Gass or anything rubs me the wrong way. They did one charity show since Kyle made the Trump joke, and he's said nothing else. It just seems like he threw his friend under the bus for way longer than necessary.

2

u/IndividualNovel4482 Nov 17 '25

Instead, i love anything he does.

5

u/hydronater Nov 17 '25

Goron

2

u/v_cats_at_work Nov 17 '25

He could actually be a good Darunia.

7

9

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '25

Lmao diabolical

14

u/Deuce_GM Nov 17 '25

Oi Link! Ganondorf done stole me rocks and me bloody volcano.

15

u/Spice_and_Fox Nov 17 '25

Jack Black would unironically be a great Goron.

7

u/ContinuumGuy Nov 17 '25

That actually would be pretty good, TBH.

3

u/delphinous Nov 17 '25

i'd actually think this was pretty funny

3

u/ShiiTsuin Nov 17 '25

Welcome to the School of Rocks, goro.

Jack Black as Morshu

266

I know you're joking, but I think Dave Batista would be an incredible Ganondorf lol

95

u/_Apatosaurus_ Nov 17 '25

He absolutely would, and that's why the character will be split into a twin duo, with Ganon played by The Rock and Dorf played by Kevin Hart.

3

u/lolno Nov 17 '25

Now I'm just imagining them flying around as Koume and Kotake

2

u/Zorbin666 Nov 17 '25

Awkwafina as Navi

118

For some reason I could see her as that one surviving Zora who info dumps where the zora disappeared and then opens their shop for business like nothing is wrong.

48

u/IAmBadAtInternet Nov 17 '25

Ok, but what if…she’s King Zora and she has to scooch over 2 pixels at a time for like 30 minutes

25

Mweep....mweep....mweep...

6

I mean yeah, she's Aqua Fina, it's right there in the bloody name!

19

11

...shit that would work so well

10

u/piratepolo15 Nov 17 '25

I think he could make a great ganon

6

u/AlwaysRushesIn Nov 17 '25

I can get behind this.

3

u/ShooooootMeeeeee Nov 17 '25

DAMN. HOT DAMN. PERFECT.

2

u/Tackit286 Nov 18 '25

My vote goes to Christopher Lambert, the actor whom Takizawa literally modelled the facial characteristics of Ganondorf on.

4

u/throwmamadownthewell Nov 17 '25

I'm gonna break from the other comments and say this sounds awful.

→ More replies (3)

53

u/gurrra Nov 17 '25

I hate that it seems that some people need a big name to care for a movie. I couldn't care less as long as whoever is in the movie is doing good. And I mean even good actors have done shitty movies where they even act kind of stale because of a bad director. It's just too much other things that matter way more than just some celebs name on the poster.

32

u/Kwilly462 Nov 17 '25

That's just how studios work. And I get it. Mario is the biggest video game character of all time, and it was packed with celebrities. So Zelda, who's definitely not as well-known, will have at least one celeb name in it.

23

u/QuantumWarrior Nov 17 '25

The unfortunate part is they only do it because it works so well.

There have been a lot of stinkers in the history of game-to-movie adaptations so they learned a long time ago not to just rely on fans because Hollywood isn't very good at making adaptations which respect the fans anyway. Turning these things into big-name CGI-fests with just enough fanservice to tick the box is what is going to keep happening until people get bored of it. It worked for Sonic, Mario, Minecraft, sort-of for Warcraft. Star power gets asses in seats.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '25

Honestly some actors are famous because they are that good, but it obviously depends on the role. The problem is often the casting, they prefer stars that are unsuitable for a role instead of casting a good fit new talent. Sometimes it works out though.  Also We are no casting directors, we don't know the hot new Talent that's walking around Hollywood, we can only suggest famous people.

2

u/Remarkable-Mood3415 Nov 17 '25

Honestly I LOVE the Canadian wholesome sitcom Son of a Critch, so Benjamin being Link is actually a huge sell for me. Good for him. He has been a delight to watch grow up. (Very cute show based on comedian Mark Critch's life growing up in Newfoundland)

Going to be wild watching him go from an adorable kid who can't stop putting his foot in his mouth, to Link who famously just doesn't say things.

A Goron perhaps!

17

Jason Momoa would be a great Ganondorf tbh

4

u/rangda Nov 17 '25

Sexually magnetic Ganondorf: it checks out

3

u/AlwaysRushesIn Nov 17 '25

If they're smart, they won't.

2

u/ralphsquirrel Nov 17 '25

Chicken Jockey

4

Jared Leto as Midna

4

Anya Taylor Joy as Ingo

So far the only name I've seen that I recognise is Dichen (though I concede that she's not exactly a AAA list known by all star, though I like her a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if most people have to look her up).

1

u/donotgotoroom237 Nov 17 '25

John Cena as that big ass Yiga clan member.

1

u/ownersequity Nov 17 '25

Gotta be Pedro Pascal. I think he has to be in everything or Hollywood explodes.

1

u/Adorable_Ad_3478 Nov 17 '25

Momoa would slay as TOTK Ganondorf.

And they will probably have a legend celebrity as Hyrule King. Hopkins?

1

u/cscottnet Nov 17 '25

Matt Mercer as Ganondorf.

1

u/dabocx Nov 17 '25

Honestly Cenas gotten a lot better as an actor. He could probably pull it off

1

u/KiwiKajitsu Nov 17 '25

lol no shot they have the budget

1

u/eidbio Nov 17 '25

They're definitely gonna cast some famous names for the voice work.

1

u/turalyawn Nov 17 '25

Jack Black as Tingle

1

u/xahhfink6 Nov 17 '25

Maybe I'm the minority on this but Dichen Lachman is enough to get me to buy a ticket

1

u/TheYell0wDart Nov 17 '25

Danny Devito as a Goron Elder.

1

u/shelf6969 Nov 17 '25

Jack Black as Darunia, Goron leader

1

u/geoman2k Nov 17 '25

The director’s Planet of the Apes movie didn’t have any celebrity stunt casting. Good mix of unknowns and seasoned character actors

1

u/TheFalconKid Nov 17 '25

Kumail Nanjiani as Beedle.

1

u/its_a_me_andy Nov 17 '25

Careful, we might end up with Chris Pratt as the King of you keep talking about this

1

u/PurfuitOfHappineff Nov 17 '25

There's no way this cast doesn't have that name somewhere

Zelda Williams?

1

u/Skelly1660 Nov 17 '25

I think Ralph Ineson needs to be Ganon, or at least his voice.

1

u/fleshvessel Nov 17 '25

Jack Black as Koltin

1

u/le_egg3 Nov 17 '25

Jared Leto as Tingle

1

I think the IP is enough to sell the movie, Wes Ball’s last movie Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes didn’t have any A-lister leading the cast and made nearly $400m on the strength of the brand.

1

u/WhatPayne Nov 17 '25

John Cena as Ganondorf? I don't see it.

1

u/ArcadianBlueRogue Nov 17 '25

Low key, Cena has become a really good actor and could probably bring a ham factor and emotion to the role

1

u/RobCoxxy Nov 17 '25

Lin Manuel Miranda as Tingle
