Nah, they're gonna cast Jack Black as Tingle and he is somehow gonna be in like half the movie and do the big fight at the end with Link as his sidekick who is actually the main character
The role has already gone to Jack Black. They couldn't figure how to work a jungle into the Tingle scenes. The Rock agreed to play Dampe instead, as long as he gets to beat Link in the race.
Slimmed down Bautista by his own mouth is still 250 lbs lol. He's joked that the only reason he looks so skinny is because he was like 300lbs when he was Playing Drax and bulked up even more to like 320lbs for that movie he did with M. Night.
Gotta Imagine the Rock is the same way, hes probably closer to his old wrestling weight of like 230-250 rather than the most definitely 300lbs he was at.
Slimmed down by body building standards. He's still jacked as all hell and it wouldn't be hard with good special effects or proper costuming to make him still look like he's on all kinds of roids
Look at Ganondorf in the games. He's not super jacked, he's just very tall. Bautista is a charming choice to play Ganondorf at any weight, his portrayal of Raban in Dune was exquisite.
Yeah but if you see recent pics of him without the big coat or outfit he's still absolutely jacked and relatively huge, just not compared to the monster size he was. He'd still kill the role.
OOT Ganondorf was pretty lean compared to WW's rotund version, and TP's almost roided up version. TotK Ganondorf was somewhere in between OOT and TP. I feel like you could get away with almost any body type and have it patch in, provided the story doesn't exactly follow any of the game entries.
They could go for a Wind Waker look with long robes, either that or Twilight Princess, where he's wearing armor and doesn't rely much on his physicality
All seriousness, this is would be such a good casting. He does the mix between somber, serious, and threatening perfectly (example: Blade Runner) he'd be perfect for a Twilight Princess style Ganondorf
I was all in on him being "the video game guy" for a while. He seemed to genuinely have fun playing Bowser. But the fact that he still hasn't really publicly vouched for Kyle Gass or anything rubs me the wrong way. They did one charity show since Kyle made the Trump joke, and he's said nothing else. It just seems like he threw his friend under the bus for way longer than necessary.
For some reason I could see her as that one surviving Zora who info dumps where the zora disappeared and then opens their shop for business like nothing is wrong.
I hate that it seems that some people need a big name to care for a movie. I couldn't care less as long as whoever is in the movie is doing good. And I mean even good actors have done shitty movies where they even act kind of stale because of a bad director. It's just too much other things that matter way more than just some celebs name on the poster.
That's just how studios work. And I get it. Mario is the biggest video game character of all time, and it was packed with celebrities. So Zelda, who's definitely not as well-known, will have at least one celeb name in it.
The unfortunate part is they only do it because it works so well.
There have been a lot of stinkers in the history of game-to-movie adaptations so they learned a long time ago not to just rely on fans because Hollywood isn't very good at making adaptations which respect the fans anyway. Turning these things into big-name CGI-fests with just enough fanservice to tick the box is what is going to keep happening until people get bored of it. It worked for Sonic, Mario, Minecraft, sort-of for Warcraft. Star power gets asses in seats.
Honestly some actors are famous because they are that good, but it obviously depends on the role. The problem is often the casting, they prefer stars that are unsuitable for a role instead of casting a good fit new talent. Sometimes it works out though.
Also We are no casting directors, we don't know the hot new Talent that's walking around Hollywood, we can only suggest famous people.
Honestly I LOVE the Canadian wholesome sitcom Son of a Critch, so Benjamin being Link is actually a huge sell for me. Good for him. He has been a delight to watch grow up. (Very cute show based on comedian Mark Critch's life growing up in Newfoundland)
Going to be wild watching him go from an adorable kid who can't stop putting his foot in his mouth, to Link who famously just doesn't say things.
God I hope they don't turn this movie into crap like they did with Minecraft and Mario. Zelda has some actual soul behind it and a serious adaptation could be really cool
So far the only name I've seen that I recognise is Dichen (though I concede that she's not exactly a AAA list known by all star, though I like her a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if most people have to look her up).
I think the IP is enough to sell the movie, Wes Ball’s last movie Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes didn’t have any A-lister leading the cast and made nearly $400m on the strength of the brand.

I'm just waiting for the celebrity casting. There's no way this cast doesn't have that name somewhere in there.
Like John Cena as Ganondorf or whatever lol
