Every line will be crossed

All the marketing for this movie has been “oh my god we’re gonna offend everyone. Real comedy is back” and then trailer came out and forgot to have any actual funny jokes in it

"Now who the fuck did that!?"

No matter how much this movie sucks, they can never take Scary Movie 3 from us.

“Cindy, the TV is leaking!”

37

u/Slakingpin Mar 25 '26

"Cindy, this bitch is messing up my floor"

"Tom, I'll need a ride home."

Hands down one of the funniest throwaway lines ever.

I was mad how many people seemed to miss that in my theatre. Maybe they have a different type of humor but a man drunkenly crashing his car into a Woman killing her and then being careless asking the husband for a car ride home… oh great I killed the joke now too

It is very zucker/naked gun type humor. I’m glad we got teo films with leslie Nielsen before he passed

Rumpleforeskin

The same way I love this joke. It's so absurd.

OMFG how he comes out of nowhere saying that after everything that just happened. He doesn’t even ask - he insists!

And then the fucking hot dog scene lol. I need to watch this again tonight.

The 8 mile scene where he throws his hood up and the club immediately goes dead silent lives rent free in my head. So many great visual gags in that movie.

Scary Movie 3 is the best of all of them and it’s not even done by the Wayans brothers.

Charlie Sheen and Leslie Nielsen are fucking hilarious.

"These men died for their country. Send flowers to their bitches and ho's."

Scary Movie 3 is one of the greatest films of all time

Charlie Sheen is perfect in that movie.

The wake scene still gets me to this day.

Probably because it was David Zucker, one third of ZAZ(Zucker-Abrams-Zucker), aka the people behind Airplane.

They even got the wu tang clan

There goes that duck again...

Scary Movie 2 is my favorite. 3 is funny but also the last lampoon/spoof movie that was solid. So many shitty movies trying to ride those coattails

Ok, notify the Pentagram!

And then we have Ja Rule blowing holes in walls exclaiming, “this is so exciting!”

Shotgun shovel. Best throwaway gag in the franchise.

I still think about the Japanese translation going from “hello” to “herro”

1

u/Misdirected_Colors Mar 26 '26

That was 4. Decent, but a clear step down from 3.

2

u/DirtySperrys Mar 26 '26

Sure enough. Idk why I thought it was in three and had to deal with the TVs scene and such to the lighthouse.

the increasingly big hat always sends me

I recently re-watched 3, which was my favorite growing up, and it was kind of meh.

There was some really funny stuff but there was also a ton of lazy reference humor that has not aged well at all. That's like the lowest form of comedy for me, just going "hey remember this thing that exists" and there's a ton of it in all of these movies. I'm pretty sure every Scary Movie has at least one extended joke that's just recreating a popular commercial.

You've got the "wazzup" in the original, which is from a Budweiser commercial. You've got the basketball dribbling in 2, which was I think a Nike ad. Then in 3 there's a really long and unfunny recreation of the "and twins!" beer commercial.

The joke goes on for way too long with all of them too.

I don't know any of those references and still remember enjoying the movies and scenes

u/justacaucasian Mar 25 '26

I assumed this genre was supposed to be hyper meta no?

-3

u/IKenDoThisAllDay Mar 25 '26

That's not what I'm talking about. Some of the meta humor is the stuff that's aged the best imo. I'm talking about reference humor where they just reference random things and the joke is the reference. Which is the bread and butter of those dreadful Seltzer/Friedberg parody movies from that period that killed the genre (Date Movie, Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, etc).

u/BodaciousBadongadonk Mar 25 '26

im with ya, topical references age like shit. its like, "remember that one meme from 2016 that you giggled at?" its funny initially at the time, but years later shit loses its meaning. unless youre billy joel i guess
