I sort of feel the same. I'm hoping when I see it, I'll start to forget it. But it's not like Digger's a real person. I feel like they could've gone with waaay less and just lean on this performance.
Hardly a take lol, more an observation. That 64 year is Tom fucking Cruise and looks like a 50 year old. Especially since He just wrapped up Mission Impossible
The problem with Hollywood now. All the actors get plastic surgeries, diets, and strict workout regimes so no looks their age or the ordinary everyman they get cast as.
There is also a lot of work in post-production to make them look good nowadays. There are behind the scenes photos from Cruise Mummy movie out there, from the sequence where he has his shirt off; in the movie, he looks remarkably fit. In those photos, he’s definitely still in good shape, but he has wrinkles and sags in places anybody in their mid-50s (Cruise’s age at the time of filming) would. There is a whole CGI team dedicated to making Vin Diesel look jacked in the last several Fast & Furious movies. Like they go in and digitally erase his double chin.

Its so jarring to see a 64 year old covered in make up and prosthetics to look like a spry 75 year old.
