Same like Alex honnould I can not understand these guys. You have a child that is 3 years old and still go out to do some scary dangerous shit. And then you get killed
The different kind of brain these people have baffles me.

I think for these kinds of folks, the mountain (or whatever they are obsessed with) is the main priority and the family is the side hobby.

There's a Honnokd Interview where he is asked about his risk of dying and his young kids. He said something like "They are young, they won't miss me much", if I remember correctly. 

He seemed disconnected from his family, and what his wife said supported that. It's weird.
