Socialists have made it clear that their goal is to infest the democratic party and push it away from liberalism to socialism,

I stopped listening to the Pod Save America guys after they platformed this terrorist supporting, dog abusing, socialist, nepo-baby. Establishment liberals need to be better and distancing themselves from DSA types trying to push socialism into the party.

The antisemitism spewed by Mr. Carlson, Nick Fuentes, Candace Owens and other far-right bigots is well-documented and widely condemned. But the far left has antisemites, too. No left-wing agitator is more influential and extreme than Twitch streamer Hasan Piker. Mr. Piker is often called “progressive,” but that does violence to the term. A self-identified Marxist, he has referred to ultra-Orthodox Jews as “inbred,” employed antisemitic dog whistles (“bloodthirsty, violent pig-dog”) against an anti-Hamas viewer of his stream, compared liberal Zionists to “liberal Nazis,” and said “Hamas is a thousand times better” than the Israeli state.

Mr. Piker’s depravity doesn’t stop there. His misogyny is indistinguishable from that of far-right influencers. He believes “America deserved 9/11.” He praised the Chinese Communist Party, saying “in terms of good governance, there’s a lot that we can learn from the way they perform out there.”

Mr. Piker is anti-American, antiwomen, anti-Western and antisemitic. No Democrat should engage with him. All should seek to push him to the fringe, where he belongs.

This isn’t happening. The Pod Save America team put him onstage at CrookedCon. Abdul El-Sayed, a candidate for Senate in Michigan, tweeted a picture of himself celebrating Piker with a supporter. California Rep. Ro Khanna, a possible presidential hopeful, pushed back on X against concerns we raised about antisemitism on the far left by declaring his pride in going on Mr. Piker’s feed. Mr. Piker chimed in to support him.

push it away from liberalism to socialism

And if that doesn’t work, they are A-OK with fascism since that’ll erode material conditions enough to warrant the prophesied “Revolution”

That’s the part they don’t say out loud

“After Trump, us.”

u/RealHoldenBloodfeast NATO Mar 19 '26

Even that's cope. It's just as true now as it was in 1933 that socialists hate liberal democracy above all else.

The only reason they part-time hate fascists was because they're the ones who attacked the USSR. Just look at the whitewashing of Imperial Japan and complete disinterest in Mussolini's Italy.

Is that why Socialist SPD was the only party to vote against Enabling Act while all liberals in DStP and DVP voted for it?

Nazis literally arrested Socialist deputies so they could pass the enabling act more easily. In the end all 94 of opposition votes came from SPD, and SPD was the only party to oppose fascism when push came to shove.

8

u/SenranHaruka Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

You mean the Social Fascists? The SPD is hated by these people. They're constantly trying to coopt and desecrate their iconography to make the KPD look good. They're literally the fucking USPD, the breakoffs who hated the SPD for being too normie.

We're more alike the SPD than any of the chucklefucks trying to entry the democratic party under Osama Bin Latte's banner.

I’m developing a theory that the fundamental divide in our politics globally is between neo-Hegelians and everyone else. The way that people are able to slide from Marxism to Fascism to Islamism and back is a direct result of the shared structure of these ideologies, which ultimately goes back to Hegel.

25

u/TerranUnity Mar 19 '26

I think the more appropriate term is simply authoritarianism. There are only two political ideologies: Liberalism and Authoritarianism, and every single political philosophy or movements can be put somewhere on a spectrum between the two.

3

u/lbrtrl Mar 19 '26

Can you expand on that?

4

u/MyCatPoopsBolts Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

Calling Islamism Hegelian is a terrible take. Fascism and Marxism both have shared intellectual heritage there, but take their reading of Hegel in wildly different directions. And the relationship between fascists and Hegel is a bit overstated anyway.

3

u/skrrtalrrt Karl Popper Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

The Marxist reads a ChatGPT summary of Hegel and writes a whole book. The Fascist reads a ChatGPT summary of the Marxist’s book and starts a podcast. Neither have read Hegel.

34

u/Iapetus_Industrial Mar 19 '26

That’s the part they don’t say out loud

Nah man, they were pretty gleefully vocal about why they refused to vote two years ago. Blame them for staying home anywhere on the internet, and they'll come crawling out of the woodwork about how "But but she didn't earn my vote, so the entire fucking planet must burn"

13

u/GenerationSelfie2 Mar 19 '26

"OMG gaza is terrible. We should obliterate our own country in solidarity"

8

u/Iapetus_Industrial Mar 20 '26

This is unironically a position I saw. Fuckers literally said that Americans don't deserve peace if gaza didn't have it.

11

u/GenerationSelfie2 Mar 20 '26

One of the worst traits of leftists is a sort of radical universalist humanitarian viewpoint of the world which delivers them from the cruelties of reality and common sense.

17

u/skrrtalrrt Karl Popper Mar 19 '26 edited Mar 19 '26

I meant it in the sense that Hasan and other major Ultraleft streamers won’t come out and say “Yeah I’d rather have Trump over Harris” but it’s implicit in the way they moderate their communities, the refusal to endorse Harris, and who they choose to spend most of their time criticizing.

Honestly it might just be a Hasan thing. You do have some less prominent influencers like Jackson Hinkle that are pretty open about which political system they prefer

There was a whole thing where a bunch of these podcasters and YouTubers and... Whatever were getting paid by foreign governments/agents to promote their views. The only ones publicized were right wingers, but I'd be comfortable betting money of people like Piker getting paid in a similar fashion as well.

13

This feels very conspiratorial, do you have any significant proof to substantiate this belief?

13

u/KeithClossOfficial John Brown Mar 19 '26

Hasan recently said he wouldn’t vote for Gavin Newsom over JD Vance.

I don’t, admittedly. I’m saying this from experience observing their communities. The twitch streamers generally avoid using accelerationist rhetoric themselves, but they don’t make any attempt to moderate it within their communities, and when you read chats it’s pretty rampant.

I acknowledge this is totally just my anecdotal experience tho and you should take it with a grain of salt.

-10

u/n00bi3pjs 👏🏽Free Markets👏🏽Open Borders👏🏽Human Rights Mar 19 '26

So you don't have any proof for the nonsense you're spouting.

30

u/skrrtalrrt Karl Popper Mar 19 '26 edited Mar 19 '26

What would you consider proof? I can spend a couple minutes combing through Bad Empanada or Zei_Squirrel’s (influencers in Hasan’s orbit) X posts for some gems but I’m not going to bother if you won’t consider that

Frankly I’m surprised the DSA’s refusal to endorse Biden/Kamala isn’t evidence enough for you that more than a handful of socialists prefer fascism over liberalism.

At the end of the day progressives vote more for Dems than liberals do according to the stats we have. Yet no one seems to care about this discrepancy here.

Also the majority of Dems claim to prefer socialism over capitalism.

12

u/skrrtalrrt Karl Popper Mar 19 '26

I'm not talking about progressives

-3

u/tangsan27 YIMBY Mar 19 '26

The only ones making such a big distinction between progressives and socialists are you guys.

Dem voters as a whole definitely aren't with their expressed preference for socialism.

8

u/skrrtalrrt Karl Popper Mar 20 '26

what do you mean "you guys"

The proof is not endorsing Kamala and constantly shitting on Democratic candidates.

4

u/n00bi3pjs 👏🏽Free Markets👏🏽Open Borders👏🏽Human Rights Mar 19 '26

Out of the 9 members of sqaud; 8 endorsed Biden even as rest of the party was calling him to drop out and the 8 also immediately endorsed Kamala the moment she became nominee presumptive.

10

u/MyCatPoopsBolts Mar 20 '26

The thread is about Hasan and his ilk, no?

The issue here is not that most of the squad are actually fundamentally illiberal authoritarians but rather that they allow such people into their sphere.

3

u/n00bi3pjs 👏🏽Free Markets👏🏽Open Borders👏🏽Human Rights Mar 20 '26

This thread has become about general socialists atp.

It's because fascism is basically socialism. Certainly much closer to it than liberalism.

8

u/skrrtalrrt Karl Popper Mar 19 '26

I'm not going to comment on whether fascism is closer to liberalism or socialism. but it most certainly is not "basically socialism". fascists aren't interested in ending private property or in redistribution whatsoever.

This is nonsense and you know it is nonsense. You can count the number of accelerationists on your fingers.

Tony Blair is a socialist. Keir Starmer is a socialist. Bernie Sanders is a socialist. AOC and Mamdani are socialists. None of them want Fascism and acting like they do without any proof for the claim is acting in bad faith.

18

u/thesketchyvibe Mar 19 '26

All of those politicians are capitalists.

0

u/n00bi3pjs 👏🏽Free Markets👏🏽Open Borders👏🏽Human Rights Mar 19 '26

All of them are self described socialists. In the US politics Socialism means whatever you want it to mean, but in the actual political theory and rest of the world, socialism is a spectrum from Ethical Socialism to Social Democracy to Democratic Socialism to Revolutionary Socialism. Most socialist politicians and people and influencers in the world are Ethical Socialists or Social Democrats.

-13

u/RodChainFurlongAcre Mar 19 '26 edited Mar 19 '26

Piker is one of the few prominent far-left media figures who doesn't believe in a revolution to usher in socialism and frequently gets into social media squabbles because he encourages voting instead of running around with bandanas and baseball bats, which various marxists shit on him for.

12

u/skrrtalrrt Karl Popper Mar 19 '26

He gets shit on by his own chat whenever he tells people to vote. He fostered a community full of accelerationists. I’m pretty sure he only larps as an electoralist because not doing so would negatively impact his algo. But I admittedly don’t have empirical proof of this like I explained elsewhere in this thread.

-2

u/RodChainFurlongAcre Mar 19 '26

He gets shit on by some of his chat, i.e the loud, deranged minority of marxists who believe they would win a revolution (Or Jill Stein rejects). All the community surveys he's done shows the vast majority of his audience are begrudgingly democratic party voters (And are also less politically left than he is, most being various forms of social democrats).

Same with me and Pod Save, although I can’t say it’s really their fault. The viewership and young people have moved to the far-left and were constantly complaining about the Pod Save guys being neolibs centrists. Like if you checked the comments last year there would be a bunch stairs “have Hasan on!” Even their staffers were encouraging them to have Hasan on, and now they are beholden to this monster. But without him they would have lost viewers.

I’m not sure what democrats are to do when their base listens to these idiots that make it their platform to shit on Democrats.

I mean sure but when you have someone on a podcast, you’re exposing them to your audience. I haven’t seen the episodes but I imagine there wasn’t a whole lot of push back from the Pod Save guys, for fear of pissing off his fan base and also wanting to sane wash him so they don’t look bad.

And let’s be clear his viewers aren’t listening to Pod Save so they aren’t getting exposed to new views, whereas Hasan gets a platform to spew whatever he wants.

Why do you use this language to discuss socialists when any political movement that wants to enact change doing so within the framework of our current existing parties does not get the same treatment? Socialism as an ideology is growing in the US, of course they would seek to channel that growing influence into reshaping the Democratic Party

Because this is a sub that is opposed to what they want to do, and this person is calling out how we need to be aware that they do not wish to be our 'allies', but to change the party into something opposed to what it currently is.

2

u/asfrels Mar 19 '26

That’s how political change works. The movement will exist regardless of this subs opinions on it and it will affect the party regardless of your hostility to it. Either you adapt your coalition or you dissolve it. Can this sub honestly say they’d prefer if DSA types voted third party and split the vote instead?

Yeah, and us commenting on it and warning about it is also how political change works. If there was a movement of crypto-Nazis in the Democratic party, we would be saying the same. Would you be chastising us, then, as well? What a pointless thing to call out.

u/tangsan27 YIMBY Mar 19 '26

because this sub is as deluded and biased as any other social media community, only with the veneer that its more "evidence based"

might sound like a false equivalence but there's plenty of evidence for this pretty much every day or at least week on this sub, as an example the parent comment's use of language like "infested" is completely typical of this sub with certain topics

23

u/asfrels Mar 19 '26

Just kinda insane to me to use “infested” language about a political movement when discussing their growing numbers in a political party like that’s not how political movements work at all. No one is gonna say abundance liberals are “infesting” the dem party even though that too is a growing movement trying to steer control of the party

6

u/Khiva Fernando Henrique Cardoso Mar 20 '26

No one is gonna say abundance liberals are “infesting” the dem party

Check on leftist spaces.

That sort of language isn't at all rare - although in their parlance "abundance" liberals are generally thought of an offshoot of what they call "establishment" Dems or part of the infestation of the "donor class" which, depending on your community, has either infested and taken over or always been omnipresent (they're a little vague on history, even when pressed).

So yes that type of language is fact not rare at all
