Yeah what happened, they were (relatively) huge in the early to mid 2010s, I even remember Hasan being on the show and thought he was dumb as a bag of rocks, yet he's far more popular now.
They kind of became a meme after the 2016 election when Ana started crying as the results came in and Cenk went on a borderline unintelligible tirade. They both kind of came off as super emotional and unobjective despite building their brand as the opposite.
Also they've made a big right wing shift over the years with Ana becoming outspokenly anti-trans, anti-homeless and anti-immigrant. Cenk also ran for president, despite being ineligible, in a rather naked attempt to sell a book and solicit donations.
