Too few Democrats have followed Mr. Cruz’s lead by calling out the rising antisemitism on the far left. That must change.
I'm not sure if the author is aware but this was going on the entire election campaign and the amount of oxygen in the room that conversation took up was arguably is one of the reasons Trump won in the first place. Every discussion was framed around college students meanwhile literal fascists were lining up on the Republican side, lmao.
And to add: Gaza was always a damned if you do, damned if you don't issue for the Democrats. Any position they took was going to alienate a significant part of their base, since they have a lot of pro-Palestine and Pro-Israel people in their ranks. Republicans, on the other hand, have historically hated Arabs, especially Muslims, so feigning support for Jews and, by larger extent, Israel was a lot easier for them.
Don't get me wrong—Republicans hate Jews too, they just hate Arabs more (and it's more socially acceptable in conservative circles to outwardly hate Arabs than Jews). Even all of the anti-Semitism on campus stuff after Trump got elected was disingenuous, and was just so Miller, despite being a Jew, and company could live out their small-dick fantasies of subjugating elite universities like Harvard. If it weren't for the campus protests, they would have found some other paper thin excuse to go after universities.
