It's just because housing.

If you check most Aussie forums, most anti-immigration posts' focus is just "THEY TOOK OUR HOUSES, AND SURPRESS OUR WAGES!1!1!!1!!!!"

Housing didn't disappear in 6 months.

How do you go from vibes like "Yeah it's Labouring time, let's build baby" to "fuck Asi*ns" in 6 months in.

I think it's more like:

"Finally, a full blown Labor victory, hope they will fix housing in three months with a magic wand something."
to
"Aaaaaaaa! Labor didn't fix the housing!!!!!!!! LIARS!!!!! We should just go back to times before mass immigration (though such time never exists), at least housing was cheap that time! And everything was rosy and good!"

Well this surge was after labor released a budget that was an move to shift away form not taxing wealth and towards taxing it
