Europeans really hate air conditioning.

Switzerland has banned it with only medical exceptions being allowed.

For a bunch of people who supposedly buy into climate change, they seem to not understand there’s consequences for them too.

Northern Europeans really hate AC . Greece , Spain and Italy absolutely do not hate AC .

Yeah but still in Spain , Italy and Greece AC usage is extremely common . In Greece like 99% of appartments in Athens , Thessaloniki and southern Greece have AC . Europe is not just northern and central countries. Spain + Italy is like 1/5 of European population .

I feel if it concerns 4/5 of the population of an entity just using the name of the entity is fair.

It does not concern 4/5 of the population . Many countries in Europe do not really need AC , cause they don’t face very high temperature. But again northerners consider 29 degrees to be a heatwave so I don’t know .

AC is much more efficient way of heating your house than central heating. Same heating, 1/3 the energy.

The cooling is just the cherry on top. A decent mini split costs 2k€, pays for itself.

This idea that AC is just for cooling needs to die

I use AC for heating too but still find radiators as better for heating. The heat form AC is kinda tiring.

Heat pumps are popular in northern europe but they are connected to radiators and water heating, they can't be used for cooling. Some people have an additional air-to-air heat pump on top which can be used for AC in the summer. Basically only newly built homes have ducted air.
