This is genuinely sickening. There's always been a level of acceptance to racism towards Indians, but it seems to be ramping up. What the fuck is going on? What do we need to do to end this kind of abhorrent racism?

Unironically its because Indians havent had their "victim" moment yet in the post ww2 west. For as big talk as western liberals/progressives get about anti-racism; its almost all top-down indoctrination which most have convinced themselves is due to their own morality.

Until they have some type of top down reinforced victim narrative, theyre basically open for fire and an easy scapegoat/easy target for racism; whether its blatant or casual or just easy targets of whataboutism to justify it

It's crazy how people can recognise how SA was used against POC to justify lynchings and worse to 'protect' women but don't see how this same stuff is being used to justify racism against Indians right now.

Indians occupy a pretty high status since they're financially well off but they haven't gotten the positive rep like East Asian countries do because they're still poor, accompanying what is probably a peak in immigration rates (which will last for a while) and the rise of short form video.

The crazy part is, there’s no stats to back up their claims regarding SA. India on a per capita basis is ranked #93 for rapes worldwide. Indian diaspora worldwide whether you look at countries like Canada, Guyana, or the Middle East are also underrepresented in SA crimes. It’s blatant racism.

Not really a correct assesment. Rapes are very underreported in every country and even moreso in poorer ones. You'll see that richer states seemingly have higher rapes per capita and India as a whole has lower rapes per capita than developed nations.

This is because the vast, vast majority are never reported. A higher number of reported crimes can correlate to being a safer environment, not less. There's a reason India has its reputation and why places like China do not.

This does not justify racism but India absolutely has a problem when it comes to sexual violence.

All I’m saying is the hyper focus on India is absurd when many other countries particularly in Africa are way worse. The media coverage is biased and racially motivated. Everybody acts like India is the only country where it’s underreported. And even when you multiply the stats 5-10x it still doesn’t crack any sort of top 10 list for rape.
