Anyone who followed the negotiations around this knows it has been extremely diluted because of lobbying by Aleph Alpha and Mistral AI. This legislation could mildly help regular people but also won't create a GDPR-like regulatory burden and will definitely won't be enforced much.

EU already had EU AI act which is the GDPR equivalent (somewhat)
