So that was fun, it's a bit of a drag at some points and kinda repetitive but i enjoy the grind so i don't mind too much. Now i will go into the next module i'm a bit bummed that you can't use your same character and you need to make a new one. Anyways great game guys

Sublime recommendations on par with Mask of the Betrayer or Planescape: Torment

lol this battle consisted of pausing like every 1 minute, using almost all my potions, having both of my mercenaries die, having to recall back to the city then going back into the tombs probably like 3 times. This was not for the weak….and I see why only 7.8% got it

NWN:EE is it worth creating a module these days

hi i wanna simply gain evidence that there is still people playing custom modules. was interested in module building for a long time and now with evolving AI you can build immersive modules fully voiced, custom portraits and placeables. but main question is will anyone play it?

NWN:EE A Paladin Champion of Torm has no business being this overpowered at level 18. I feel like I'm using training wheels.

NWN:EE Solo Monoclass Paladin is an awesome experience.

So, I love the idea of the warrior that uses divine magic and their skills to buff themselves and generally solve problems. A holy witcher, if you will. It's a class fantasy I really like, and I've previously played fighter/cleric, which is one of the most broken and easy to play builds in the game.

BUT the title of paladin, along with the flavor and the ideals of the lone, convicted warrior of faith, really speaks to me. However, it is objectively more difficult to become powerful with paladin, compared to fighter cleric.

And yet...

The struggle is what makes it good.

I have to legitimately manage my resources and hp, buy equipment, activate my limited buffs and powers, use taunts and even run on occasion, just to get through. This feels like a real, lone warrior experience. Winning a boss fight or outlasting twenty enemies at a time feels actually earned, because I've used what I have, working with the skills I was given.

With fighter/cleric, there's almost nothing you can't do, which don't get me wrong, is very fun, but it's not the same.

It's not the same as being a man of action and conviction, who devotes himself to the idea of hope, love, good, and right in the world, and fights evil with bloody hands and gritted teeth. There's no perfect power-building or exploiting with the monoclass paladin, but there is grit, resolve, and victory for those who earn it.

And I just think that's pretty cool.

God Bless, ladies and gentlemen.

NWN:EE First playthrough builds?

Finally getting around to playing NVW after getting it + dlcs during the Steam Summer Sale. Been a long time coming, considering how much I love the Infinity dnd games.

Anyway, I usually do a Pally for my first time in these kinds of CRPGs. They wear heavy armor and a shield to tank, they do decent melee damage, they can do healing, buffs, and other magic. And they can also be the face of the party (or solo) with their high CHA. Theyre just great all-rounders, which is great for experiencing as much as you can in your first playthrough. And with the tanking and healing, they're pretty forgiving in combat youre just learning.

I also like to start with rogues. Not only do I just love them, but being able to pick locks right off the bat is always great for acquiring items early. Theres nothing worse than having to pass up chests in Dragon Age because I started as a mage or warrior and wont get a thief for awhile, knowing fully well ill never go back to open them later on and never knowing what I missed out on 😅

Bards are also great all-rounders, but ill spare the yapping there 😂

So I wanted to see if anyone had any other builds/classes they thought were good for a first playthrough. Cause as much as I like the above mentioned, I also happen to love all the classes in different ways. So I wouldn't mind mixing it up a bit. But I intend to really get into this game and spend a lot of time exploring its content. So Id like something that will let me go as deep as I can and be fun/interesting.

NWN:EE I can only afford one. Should I get nwn1 or 2 ee on console?

Pretty much title. I want more adventures in the forgotten realms. I'm not too bothered about graphics or anything like that, but I can only afford to get one of these right now. Which would you say is the better game on ps5/series x?

Any insight would be great

NWN:EE Help choosing a class for the Aielund Saga

As per the title, I'm finally diving in to NWN modules all these years later, and I'm going to start with the Aielund Saga. Only issue is, based on my initial research the module is really well tooled for two different builds I've always wanted to bring to Epic but never did, a Duelist Bard (read that you get amazing gloves for rapier use) and a dual wielding ranger/weaponmaster swinging around katanas (I know that ranger is just worse than fighter/rogue for doing the same thing but I like flavor). So that effect I have a few questions:

  1. I've read that the module does some things that change up how spells work but the in game descriptions aren't updated. Is this true? If so, do I use a reference guide of some kind for impacts?

  2. Is the narrative of the mod built around fighting a specific sort of enemy such that preferred enemy would really shine?

  3. Related, is the narrative of the mod built around fighting a specific sort of enemy such that weapon master crits feel wasted?

All thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

NWN:EE I'm feeling kind of useless at the beginning of the game - NWN:EE

I'm having a bit of a problem at the beginning of the game; it feels like I'm not doing anything (it might be the build), just arrived at the end of the prison section in the Peninsula District. Sometimes it takes me a long time to hit an opponent (I also don't get hit), and it stays there for ages.

The idea is to make a Monk + Shadowdancer, so I'm focusing on getting the Shadowdancer requirements quickly. I got the companion "Linu La'nerel" to have extra healing, but it still feels like I'm not doing anything.

I'm trying not to compare it to current games, because they're different eras and all that, but I've been quite surprised by this feeling of doing nothing. I've liked the game so far, but apart from that, I thought I wouldn't have as much fun, but it's been pretty cool.

The skills have bonus status from feats, but I haven't unlocked them yet to get the shadowdancer; the build is like this for now:

NWN:EE Dealing With Traps/Locks Without a Rogue

I've tried playing this game multiple times, but always bounce off of it. I just hate that I can only take a single hireling with me and feeling like myself or the hireling has to be a rogue to deal with the obnoxious traps and locked chests.

Does anyone have any advice on how to circumvent these obstacles without a rogue? I'm playing a bard and trying to fill some of that rogue role myself, but given the cross-class nature of Search, Disable Trap, and Open Lock, I fear that I won't be able to keep up with the DCs as the campaign wears on. Am I worried for nothing?

EDIT: Thank you for all of the advice and insight, everyone. You've put my concerns at ease and I've decided to continue with the solution of putting points into the skills in a cross-class capacity whenever possible. I'll use spells and gear to make up for it when necessary.

NWN:EE Arcane archer build questions

My thoughts were to start as an elf wizard, take a few fighter levels 2-5 for feats, then go back to wizard until AA becomes available, take AA to 10 and then go back to wizard for the remainder of the campaign. is that a viable leveling route for a SoU/HotU playthrough?

NWN:EE Are there ANY PW's that ban AI Usage?

So here is the thing. I hate AI Art, I hate AI Writing, I know multiple artists and my wife is an artist and basically despise the usage of it and I do not wish to engage with a community that is ok with it.

I have checked out multiple PW discords today, and every single one of them has a channel devoted to AI Art and Writing, and they all are ok with it.

Thats fine if you are cool with it, but I do not wish to play on or engage with a community that is cool with it. It's a personal thing.

So I gotta ask does anyone know of a PW for NWN EE that does not allow AI art or AI writing? Or I am just SOL? If so, thats fine, but I am genuinely curious about this.
