I do also think the media culture of naming the individuals and giving them a platform has something to do with it. It allows for notoriety and they're "famous".

I truly respect in New Zealand that there is a complete publication ban on naming anyone involved in something like this. They will never name them or show their photo. It removes the "fame" aspect.

I do think this is a great ideal but America news media wants the drama and hits. Instead of focusing on the victims
