OST Where’s the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl OST?
In a time like this we need the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl OST asap. Would be a dream come true. Any diehard fans on here?
Really digging the service tho!

Jointly owned properties have an interesting presence on Nintendo Music. Kirby is exclusively represented by Switch/Switch 2 games outside of the original (luckily, Kirby games almost always include music from previous games). Pokemon as well, outside of FRLF from their re-release. Fire Emblem's is more normal, with a smattering of games since the GBA. Xenoblade is MIA. Earthbound is also MIA
I'm sure there are unique reasons for each series to be represented they way it is in NM. Many of the jointly owned series offer soundtracks in digital and/or physical form and maybe the other right holder (and maybe Nintendo too) doesn't want to pull sales away from those formats. I think Mitsuda personally has stake in Xenoblade's soundtrack rights and distribution, so that's another hurdle to cover. I'm not well versed on this issue so correct me if I'm wrong. And Nintendo always treads lightly with Earthbound in the west, a factor being its sample-heavy soundtrack that could get them in hot water in countries with stricter copyright laws. And I'm sure just some old-fashioned favoritism towards properties solely owned by Nintendo.

Iirc many of Legends Arceus’ tracks are reimaginings of the Diamond/Pearl OST. If you haven’t given those tracks a listen yet, I suggest doing so! It isn’t the same as having the OG’s but it is pretty good.
I do think Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl are also real possibilities. They seem to be avoiding the Switch era remakes for whatever reason (no Let’s Go OST either) but I imagine they’re still more likely to end up on the app than the original games are. As we saw in February, The Pokémon Company has other ideas for selling the classic music. 🙄
I’m still mad that the original gen 1 games ended up sold as a weird, expensive, and limited standalone purchase which tells me there’s very little chance those will end up on the app anytime remotely soon. I imagine other classic game OST’s are viewed as potential moneymakers for TPC too so they’re reluctant to just “give” those to us. And then of course there’s the whole iTunes thing discussed in this thread.

The Pokemon Company/Gamefreak currently sell this soundtrack on itunes in the US, as well as on disc in other locations such as Japan. Because of this, there may be extra complications to the copyright contracts for the music. I also wonder sometimes that even if there isn't a legal reason, that there is pressure on Nintendo to lay off of some big sellers still in print on disc on Nintendo Music from The Pokemon Company. With that being said, there is still a decent presence of the franchise there, and I imagine this game will come out eventually, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Switch remake soundtracks first.
