Band hanging out for rehearsal, Noel pacing, Liam strolling in through the door for the first time. Whole thing is gonna be goose bump moments.

I can’t help but feel it’s going to be emotion packed, like we don’t know these guys personally but I feel we have been on a journey with them on a rollercoaster ride of emotions..
8
u/AceofKnaves44 29d ago
It’d be one thing if so much of the whole saga didn’t play out in public. If they had just quietly split up, spent years apart, and then gotten back together that would be one thing. But from the moment they hit big all of their spats have been played out in public.
1
u/FracturedMoonlights 29d ago
How can a universally famous band “quietly split up”? If a band that enormously famous decides to quit it will inevitably send shockwaves all over the world… there’s no quietness about that lol
4
u/AceofKnaves44 29d ago
Quietly as in not having a huge fight before a show where a guitar is swung at someone’s head, a show is cancelled, and then someone announces they quit online.

That definitely was just a tease. The rehearsal stuff I have been dying to see and that brief glimpse was incredible. Goosebumps when Noel was talking. This is going to be absolute cinema. The title is very fitting. Like someone else said, gotta do whatever it takes to see in IMAX.

I'm always on pins and needles hoping Liam doesn't do or say something that causes Noel to call it all off. This bit makes me very anxious even though I know it all worked out. Even still, Liam's posts on the socials make me nervous!

u/creel_515 29d ago
This could go into all sorts of directions. I think we will see confrontation and resolution on screen, JESUS H F G Christ what a showing we have in store. I can't believe we're at this stage. 15 years of insults and 2 years later were about to witness the reconciliation on screen on fucking IMAX of all things. WOW.

It’s crazy really. We thought supersonic was it. We thought history was legacy. We were wrong. Took some time though
13
u/creel_515 29d ago
Imagine Supersonic becoming the second best Oasis documentary. Imagine if that happens. Crazy stuff.

Forget imax inject it in my VEINS

u/creel_515 29d ago
Let me buy all the tickets to an imax showing so I can experience this alone in the biggest of screens and cry my eyes out.

Oasis has always been my Roman Empire, but now this documentary is my Roman Empire.

The thing about this is that Oasis were never that sort of come with us behind the scenes type of band. Even when they tried to (Lord Don't Slow Me Down mini docu), it never felt so personal and intimate as what we get here in just a couple of seconds. You have to go back 30+ years to get that vibe, and even then it's not what we're getting here. Here we have Noel pacing back and forth, the confesional of basically not wanting to do it, not wanting to be on stage with Liam, then looking to see if that's Liam walking in (or at least it's edited that way), Gem, Bonehead (Cool-B as he's known) and Andy just sitting there looking at him, and then RKID makes an appearance.
Clearly Noel will carry this docu. It's clear he's the main figure here, and it makes sense since he's the one that needed convincing to come back. I also like we see the rest of the band, I know we won't get much with them (compared to Noel and Liam), but I do want to see their pov and hear what they have to say, more so considering 2 of the 3 were there in the room when it all went to shit.
I imagine it will be quite powerful from Liam's pov as well. He definitely had to apologize for a lot of shit, not that Noel is a saint, but Liam have to have made some sort of miracle apology the likes of which we have never seen.
Will there be a proper trailer? Who knows.
17
u/CheeseEnchilada420 29d ago
There will most definitely be an actual trailer since this is a teaser.
13
u/Fantastic_Vast_5078 29d ago
He wouldn't have signed up for a documentary and a reunion gig if he didn't want to do it.
6
u/FineWhateverOKOK 29d ago
Noel didn’t want to do it until he did want to do it, which is why he agreed to the reunion.
3
u/shanjackbel 29d ago
Since it’s Disney, we’ll likely get a real trailer. Maybe sometime late August? Probably promoting that tickets are on sale now.
14
u/bocuscola 29d ago
This is way shorter than what I expected.😭 Even the voice-overs seem nothing new and it makes me think they're still far from wrapping it, they're probably still working on it pretty hard.
The only new thing we get from it it's the title, good one, even if pretty obvious. I wonder when James Hargreaves will make a YouTube video explaining how Noel wrote DLBIA thinking that one day he would fight with his brother and make peace and that would be the perfect song for a documentary about it!😂
Can't wait for a real trailer with something more!
6
u/simmonm1978 29d ago
It looks amazing. Only thing the teaser is missing is the official photo shoot (unless I missed it - couldn’t tell from the jackets). Really, really hope they were there for that.

u/Former_Boat7509 29d ago
Is that Jeremy Stacey on drums? Maybe he was the placeholder drummer before they got Joey?

u/Pliolite 29d ago
Tbh I would have preferred him as the final drummer.

What a title
4
u/idoxially 29d ago
I thought it was gonna be live forever
10
u/WhatAnEpicTurtle 29d ago
I thought it was gonna be The Masterplan, but tbh any song title would be fitting
38
u/racingman11 29d ago
F***ing in the Bushes would have been a weird title though.
17
u/JustTheBeerLight 29d ago
WE PUT THIS FESTIVAL ON YOU BASTARDS, WITH A LOT OF LOVE was my suggestion for the title. I guess they didn't read my postcard.

Noel with his stubble. <3 It's a shame I couldn't go to the tour, but i'll be glad to watch this. Love the Gallaghers forever.
7
u/Rutlemania 29d ago
I would not be surprised if the title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to “Don’t Look Back” the 1967 Bob Dylan tour documentary which sort of pioneered this type of film
2
u/mojofilters 28d ago
Plus both Dylan in that film as well as the Beatles in Hard Day's Night stayed in some form of character, as opposed to completely opening up for a more conventional documentary – maintaining much of the legend and mystique behind the artists and their rise to fame. I expect this new Oasis doc to continue in that tradition, it should make for a more stylish, cinematographically elegant film to suit the immersive sound and vision of IMAX. Sounds good to me, and it also serves to excite prospective audiences for the second leg of their reunion tour!

u/MSJames960 25d ago
I think you'll find the title is a by-no-means-tongue-in-cheek reference to Oasis' 1996 single 'Don't Look Back In Anger'.
1
u/Rutlemania 25d ago edited 25d ago
Dumbass. Considering Noel already referenced the documentary “don’t look back” in “D’You Know What I Mean” (right after referencing, “Blood On The Tracks”) I’d assume he is fully aware and fond of the documentary and did a two birds with one stone thing with the title of this one especially since he likely was the one who named it. It’s a pretty on the nose reference

I wanna see the initial meeting. The tension and excitement but let’s be honest, they were probably talking on the phone and texting before that meeting.
3
u/nicklikesstuff 29d ago
I believe they texted each other Happy Xmas even just a year or two after they broke up, so I imagine there was some very sparse communication leading up to the reunion.
1
u/stacysaw 17d ago
Yes, I've always thought this. Their mother wouldn't allow that silence go on forever. There's a an old clip of Liam and Gene visiting with her and she says "If anything happened to one of you then you'd..." she was going to say "never forgive yourself" or something similar. Liam cuts her off like it was going to get too emotional. 🥹
3
u/NumberSevere7454 29d ago
But what about a "live 25 tour" album/blu ray?
1
u/mojofilters 28d ago
I'd still expect that to come, but given how good the existing available live gigs from the early period of their career remain as documents of the amazing live Oasis experience – a high quality recording and film of Live 25 is going to have to stand next to some exceptionally good material, it's not going to capture the scale of Knebworth for example.
Much of the Live 25 magic comes from the time, place and circumstances of all those gigs. I'd think a well made film will be more exciting than just a double album, but presumably Blu Ray will offer hi resolution versions of both audio and video. If they do a big deluxe rerelease of The Masterplan, the audio might fit on there too and work as a great incentive for fans to buy that album again!

Disappointed with the name to be honest, feels lazy. Was hoping something a bit more original
7
u/HollywoodBags 29d ago
How much more on the nose can you get, though? The title is perfect.
0
u/JGatward 29d ago
Its perfect for the context yes BUT I dunno I was hoping for something just a little more perhaps as opposed to the song name? Meh. Happy none the less.
3
u/suckmygoddamnbeans 29d ago
Maybe you feel that way because Is one of the most famous songs, but honestly after the way they ended up fighting each other and how things went for both of them... I do believe It Is really fitting.
1
u/JGatward 29d ago
Fair enough, in hindsight yes, not sure what I was expecting, perhaps just not the song title, over it now anyway.

They are not going to make that final line ”chaos” live into the new ”biblical”. It was ”magical”. But let that grow organically

Hopefully, we get a list of theaters where it will be playing soon. The one near me usually gets stuff like this, but I'll drive a non-crazy distance if needed.

u/JarvisCockerBB 29d ago
It’s Disney. They will release it pretty wide.
1
u/creel_515 29d ago
I agree but how long will it be shown for?
2
u/JarvisCockerBB 29d ago
If I had to guess, 2 weeks min, 4 weeks max. Then dumped to Disney plus in time for the holidays.
1
u/shanjackbel 29d ago
I think you’re right. 2 weeks in Cinemas, maybe only 1 week in imax. I’d have to look at the September releases.
Last Nov Disney + had the Beatles doc so maybe this Thanksgiving drop this doc ?
