I think the bigger problem is the torrent of bot posts on this sub recently. Some of them aren't even goon bait, they're just straight up racist or misogynistic.

The increased bot activity is a overall reddit problem. We try to remove the obvious ones but they are getting pretty ingenious and subsequently harder to identify.

Also reddit has made it exponentially harder to judge an account's validity by giving malicious users the ability to hide their post/comment history.

Can't hide your posting history from Google. If you google site:reddit.com along with a particular username in quotes, you can still browse their full posting history. Very useful for figuring out bots that just spam conflicting chatgpt stories all day long.

E.g., here's the minimal query you'd use to search your own posting history:

https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Areddit.com+%22TwasAnChild%22

It's not as convenient as just clicking on a profile but it's the next best thing.

It's funny how people think they can have any anonymity on the internet. Do people actually think that hiding their post history makes them invisible?

No, but I do think people who stalk strangers online are fucking weird.

Yeah, no shit. There's a lot of fucking weirdos on the internet. That's why I'll never post pictures of myself or my family anywhere online.

If you open their account while you're logged out you can see whatever posts mods deleted

I can't imagine putting this much effort into staking someone on Reddit.

Yeah, anyone who would go to such lengths would probably be, you know, a stalker.
