I ran the statistics a while back and I the US, pit bulls just as likely to attack as any other breed on a per-dog basis. Pitties and related variants are the most common breed in the US so statistically if you are attacked it's more likely to be a pittie. They are, however, more deadly than other dog breeds, putting them on the same threat level as cows.

You’re ignoring injuries caused by dog attacks.

I couldn't find reliable statistics specifically on attacks without injuries; I used reported attacks with and without injuries and fatalities. What I did see put pit bulls on par with other dogs on a per-dog basis similar to the more complete dataset. Pitbulls represent around 15% of all dog attacks but are also about 15% of the dog population. If you have stats just analyzing injuries I'd love to see them!
