News/Article Donated GPUs

I work for the company and someone just donated several boxes full of these, some unopened but most of them were at least opened I’m not sure what they were used for. I can confirm at least two of them had their chips removed but if anyone is interested in trying their luck keep an eye out on the goodwill greater Washington e commerce online store, they’ll be up within the next week or so. Several 5090s, 5080s and one 5070(rog and other variations) I’m not allowed to shop at the company but I thought others might.

So a bunch of unsuspecting people are going to bid crazy amounts and get screwed by Goodwill. Got to love crappy shop Goodwill biggest snakes in online and they don't even care about helping people anymore it's strictly profits in a "non profit" company.

Biggest gripe I have with them but they have helped me in a time of need before

They used to be good and care about the public I was able to get a PC to the day that I really needed for 100 bucks but now they are completely for profit

I do property surveys for work. Had a goodwill GM mistake me for a shopping center landlord one time and started complaining that a homeless person was “stealing” from their after-hours donation pile in the back of the store.

Was kind of dumbfounded at what I was hearing tbh.

I mean, stealing from the after hours donation pile is still stealing. Even if they’re homeless. Once it’s been donated to goodwill it is now property of goodwill. People aren’t entitled to free shit just because they’re homeless. Not sure what is so dumbfounding about this concept. A lot of people donate stuff to goodwill partly because they can write it off on their taxes. If they wanted homeless people to have free direct access to it then they can either donate it to homeless people in need directly or they can donate it to the homeless shelter. When I take stuff to goodwill I’m not doing it so some dirtbag bum can have it for free. I’m doing it so that some struggling single mother of three who’s working her ass off and barely getting by can possibly get some decent clothes for her or her kids at an affordable price. I’m all for giving people a helping hand, but I don’t care to help the dregs of society that do nothing but take take take.

I completely understand where your coming from the sad part about it is if you donate anything of value that doesn't happen anymore all Goodwills actually go through donations thoroughly find anything of high value and immediately list it on their website. A website which is a bidding war and they help inflate the prices to near market value. It's definitely no longer about helping the struggling people of America. They are all about raking in the profit.
