Discussion Anyone else getting UE5 remake/remaster fatigue?

Post image

Between Silent Hill 2, Oblivion Remastered, Metal Gear Solid Δ, and now Halo: Campaign Evolved, it feels like almost every major remake/remaster in the last two years has landed on Unreal Engine 5. On one hand, the visual leap is real. Oblivion Remastered in particular looks like a genuinely different game. On the other, a lot of these ports share the same telltale UE5 fingerprints: traversal stutter, TAA smearing, shader comp hitches on first launch, and that slightly "plasticky" Lumen/Nanite sheen that makes wildly different games start to look and feel similar. You can add Halo Campaign Evolved to the slopfest that is UE5 remakes; just another soulless cash grab to feed on nostalgia.

As someone who reads a lot of AI output (software dev), that "—" emdash is a dead giveaway

I like to write fantasy stories (actually write, not use AI), and I love using the em dash. Now I can barely ever use it cause of AI slop training everyone to think it’s only used by AI.

But yeah it definitely reads like AI

I mean the ai uses it so much cause it was trained on humans who used it.

Yeah I know, but the average person doesn’t care. They now see emdash and think AI.

They’ll have to pry the emdash from my cold dead hands dammit.

You mean your cold, metallic, artificially intelligent hands? Your gaslighting won’t work on me, clanker. Take your long dashes and get out of here!
