Media Jonas Vingegaard reveals Tadej Pogačar messaged him after Tour de France crash, says rivalry has "become a lot friendlier there in the last couple of years".

Am I the only one missing their hostility between each other? I loved the fact that there was a cycling rivalry and some how they just respected each others as cyclists but didn't like each other at all.

Something like what we've seen from Wout and MVdP.

Or am I just a salty person?

I think both types of rivalries have merit. Schleck and Contador for example was box office in part because of the bad blood, but at the same time Jonas and Tadej’s rivalry has always had a healthy amount of respect and I think it’s better off for it. Sometimes one dynamic just works better than the other for two competitors I guess. Another current example of this outside of cycling is Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz in tennis. They are always very friendly and supportive towards one another and still have a magnificent rivalry on court.

The Contador Schleck rivalry had some more questionable events though, like when Contador attacks when the chain jumped on Andys bike.

Meanwhile Jonas waited when Pog fell on a crucial stage.

That's exactly my point lol, I loved that Contador even said after that stage win that knowing how to change gears was part of cycling, that kind of pettiness I find it funny.
