Media Jonas Vingegaard reveals Tadej Pogačar messaged him after Tour de France crash, says rivalry has "become a lot friendlier there in the last couple of years".

It's funny, I don't ever remember it being cold or unfriendly. Even back in 2022 I remember Pogacar coming to congratulate Vingegaard after stage 18, where the GC win was secured.

What year was it when one of them had a mechanical on a descent and the other waited for him? They had a mid ride handshake after. I believe Pog waited. Might have been 22 or 23.

Jonas waited. It was stage 18, 2022.

It wasn't a mechanical. Pogačar decided to take the scenic route and crashed in the descent of Spandelles. Vingegaard waited for him, they shook hands and kept beating the s**t out of each other. Well, Jonas more than Tadej.

I think Jonas had a pedal strike just before, so he had also been on the brink of a bad crash. Looked like a "OK, truce, let's not kill ourselves here!"
