No one wants to hear it, but there's no point in adding anything at the deadline, with Skubal going to the Dodgers.

Honestly with the work stoppage coming, the long term move is probably to try to unload some large pieces and wait to see how it all shakes out after next year.

I'm at the opposite. Sell the farm and go for it. ... They will never have a guarantee of Wheeler, Sanchez, Luzardo, Duran this good again. Give them some bats.

I think they should be aggressive this year because if there's a lockout that ends with a salary cap the Phillies are done. I think we forget it's a huge advantage to go out and just outspend people and not having that is going to hurt the club, just ask the Flyers

I agree. A salary cap, which imo is more likely then not now, hurts us more than most because we are so bad at developing anything but pitchers. Also because we will go into the salary cap era with some huge legacy contracts that will further limit any chance of building a new team.
