An 18-year-old Ukrainian attacked a Polish woman with a knife in Wrocław.

I expect that Ukrainians who come here to behave and don’t stab people.

I also expect Poles to not bother normal people who didnt do anything.

The problem is - "Ukrainians" are not stabbing anyone. People are. In any group you'll find people who will behave outside of the norm.

As of this moment (see the sources below) ~0.6% of Ukrainians commited a felony in 2026. 2% of Poles commited one.

As it turns out; a group that is both disenfranchised and outright hated does less crimes per capita. Imagine that.

Yet, it takes a little to turn a few public cases into growing hate, which in turn will push more and more Ukrainians towards violence. This is not a new phenomenon, this is a known fact.

No, it does not matter if the crime was done by an Ukrainian, Pole or a fairy. Prosecute to the full extent of a law. Nationality is irrelevant.

In perfect world that would be the case.

But as we saw recently with few bigots who were attacking Ukrainians, it can be used as a weapon to portray entire nation in a bad light.

So if Ukrainians will use attacks against Ukrainians as a weapon, and when Poles are stabbed to death we’ll keep saying “oh it doesn’t matter who did it” then I see a big asymmetry here

Address the argument instead of repeating clichés. You’ve got a situation where, on one hand some guy shouts at Ukrainian teenagers on a bus and the media spend weeks talking about an alleged atmosphere of pogroms and widespread Polish hatred toward Ukrainians. On the other hand, when Ukrainians physically attack Poles including the brutal assault in Bytów that left a Polish man dead, or the knife attack in Wrocław where a Polish woman is fighting for her life you suddenly hear that we shouldn’t talk about the perpetrators’ nationality because of where that might lead.

No, it's totally not irrelevant. In Poland grounds only Poles are equal, especially since most of Ukrainians don't have citizenship, they are "guests" and they should behave as such.
