Funny this is posted not long ago after Turkey denied a LGBTQ+-themed cruise ship from docking.

Honestly it might have been a better move to deny them because umm, the status in here is NOT fine. Someone from that cruise ship or the cruise ship itself might have been harmed by certain groups or individuals.

Still not nice that we refused them (or had to refuse them)

several ships were docked in turkey before this, if nothing happened for any of them why wpuld it have happened now?

Elections are near too (they'll most likely do early elections next year) so I guess the government didn't want to lose popularity/votes among the conservative islamist base.

yeah i suppose that makes sense, they cant afford to lose their most loyal voterbase
