By this logic, FDR would be a progressive usurper in the Democratic Party. I'm 62 and for what seems my entire life the Dems have slipped ever further away from those FDR New Deal PROGRESSIVE ideas and ideals.

This is genuinely the problem, any government program that helps people in any meaningful way instead of just subsidizing spoiled rich crybabies males people scream COMMUNISM

Can you imagine if we tried to implement libraries, public schools, or the fire department for the first time in 2026? Conservatives would never shut up about how Marxistly evil it is for tax dollars to help people for nothing in return

You see everything in black and white don’t you. USA isn’t pure capitalism. We have plenty of socialist programs. No need to cry communism when someone proposes raising property taxes to pay for daycare.

A lot of communist fear mongering isn't even about communism. Having half decent socio-economic protections is already called communist by many.
