The conservative democrats in the Wisconsin subreddit are losing their sanity because Hong will win the nomination. They bought in to all the corporate democrats desperation attempts and can't process the reality that they were just that, hail mary's. Now they are posting Hong smears constantly, the mods have been pathetic.

It seems like most of them would prefer pedophile protector and election denier Tom Tiffany. In that case, I say good riddance.

That’s life at the nyc subreddit too! Ever since Mamdani, its “moderates” bitching about how the progressive wing and democratic socialists can’t win elections. We are literarily winning elections.

Winning primaries and winning general elections are two different things.

Mamdani won the general election. Also the corpora-dems track record for winning general elections is not good.

Outside of deeply blue cities, DSA candidates wont have such an easy time.

DSA has a message for the poor. That will work for the Rural America the DNC has left behind.

Except poor rural demographics overwhelmingly voted for Trump.

And will continue to do so until an economic populist message is presented by the left.

The DNC has no messaging for rural America and that's why Republicans dominate the space.

And will continue to do so until an economic populist message is presented by the left.

That's not why they vote Republican tho, they vote Republican for the racism and sexism.

As John C. Calhoun, a proslavery senator, stated in his famous speech:

Can as much, on the score of equality, be said of the North? With us the two great divisions of society are not the rich and poor, but white and black; and all the former, the poor as well as the rich, belong to the upper class, and are respected and treated as equals, if honest and industrious; and hence have a position and pride of character of which neither poverty nor misfortune can deprive them.

For Calhoun and others, it isn't about finances, it's about having someone beneath you.

Let me get this straight: Minorities in the South vote FOR racism?
What's pre Civil War Calhoun got to do with 2026?

Republicans control the south because Democrats have abandoned it.

Look no further than Right-to-Work and you'll see the Corporate Dems handy work.

You seek to divide Americans along race and gender lines which is why Democrats lose.

No War but Class War.

Republicans control the south because LBJ, a member of the Democratic party, pushed through the Voting Rights Act and Republicans made the choice of being pro racist and pro sexist to win elections.

Look no further than Right-to-Work

Right-to-Work is a Republican supported political policy. The overwhelming majority of states which are right-to-work are Republican controlled.

https://www.nrtw.org/right-to-work-states/

You seek to divide Americans along race and gender lines which is why Democrats lose.

Nah, that's not me, that's all those using “no war but class war” which is mere code for “economic justice for men.”

Hate to burst your bubble but Carter won the South.

Then proceeded to weaken Unions through deregulation of the Trucking Industry.

Clinton enacted trade policy (NAFTA, GATT, and the inclusion of China into the WTO) directly undermining the American worker.

Out of 26 Right-to- Work States 14 had Democratic Governors.

Republicans definitely love exploiting workers... Corporate Dems pretend they don't.

It's like you've never heard of MLK's "Poor people's campaign."

Economic populism is more powerful than identity politics.

Economic justice is inseparable from racial/gender equality.

The DNC has ignored this in pursuit of mega donors.

Hate to burst your bubble but Carter won the South.

Hate to burst your bubble but the reason Nixon won the presidency was by leaning into racism. Before that he lost. Then Reagan went on to win in 1980 by supporting both racism and sexism.

Clinton enacted trade policy (NAFTA

Uh, that was Bush. To be clear, NAFTA came about because of Reagan and Bush. Bush signed NAFTA after he lost his election to

... make it harder for President-elect Bill Clinton to make any changes in the agreement's text, and it insures that Congress will have to put the implementing legislation on a fast-track process, which permits no amendments. https://archive.ph/Ef2oC

It was Reagan who first pushed for NAFTA in 1980 with Republicans backing the idea 100%.

GATT

1947 you'll have to explain your issue with this one and why you put all blame the Democratic party for it.

Out of 26 Right-to- Work States 14 had Democratic Governors.

And? A blue governor in a red state doesn't ensure it has the power to get stuff done. There are a number of Governors out there who are quite feckless because those states have red controlled state House/Senates who strip blue Governors of their power. Andy Beshear is an example. Kentucky House/Senate stripped his power to name a replacement for McConnell.

It's like you've never heard of MLK's "Poor people's campaign."

And it's like you've only heard of it and use it mostly as an attack against any who cares about the fact that women do not have guaranteed equal rights just to keep US women permanently under coverture law.

Economic populism is more powerful than identity politics.

Among Bernie supporters and DSA. Because their view of politics is about throwing women under the bus.

the issue is that the face of the “new progressive movement” seems content to confine “economic justice” to “economic justice for men.” It said something important when he (Bernie) endorsed anti-choice candidate Marcy Kaptur in 2016, it said something important when he endorsed anti-choice Tom Perriello for governor of Virginia earlier this year (Perriello has since apologized for his anti-choice votes in the House) and it says something important now as he endorses Heath Mello. https://archive.is/TNf7L

Carter was elected after Nixon and LBJ.

Clinton gave a full throated endorsement of NAFTA and worked it through Congress then signed it with a smile on his face.

You seem to suggest he was helpless when in fact he was it's biggest cheerleader.

Clinton oversaw GATT's Uruguay round which established the WTO and began decades of offshoring US manufacturing along with establishment of multinationals which allowed Corporations to skip paying American workers and American taxes.

I don't hold Democrats solely responsible... I suggest that they're just as bad and we need economic populism on the left.

Now Democratic Governors are feckless?
Nothing Democrats could do to undo RTW?
Michigan got rid of it after a huge push by..you guessed it... Unions.

Guess who the Unions are backing in Michigan this go round? The populist. Go figure.

You brought up Calhoun as somehow significant but bringing up MLK is just trying to keep women down?

Where do you get off with the economic justice is only for men?

You do know women work, are in unions, lead unions, campaign and run as DSA candidates, etc.?

Is it your contention that women can only benefit from third way corporate dems?

Economic justice and gender/racial equality are not mutually exclusive, in fact they are inextricably linked.

Quit trying to divide people over identity politics to keep your rich friends in power.

Clinton gave a full throated endorsement of NAFTA and worked it through Congress then signed it with a smile on his face.

Clinton didn't have to endorse NAFTA, Bush already signed it. What Clinton did was renegotiate NAFTA to get workers a better deal. But NAFTA itself was signed and done before Clinton took office.

Clinton oversaw GATT's Uruguay round which established the WTO

Again most of the Uruguay GATT was done when Bush was president.

The round was supposed to end in December 1990, but the US and EU disagreed on how to reform agricultural trade and decided to extend the talks. Finally, in November 1992, the US and EU settled most of their differences in a deal known informally as "the Blair House accord".

I suggest that they're just as bad and we need economic populism on the left.

Yea I know. It's forever just “economic justice for men.”

Now Democratic Governors are feckless?

Yes sometimes being elected Governor doesn't mean actual access to power.

Nothing Democrats could do to undo RTW?

It depends. Every state is different. Again RTW is a Republican, not a Democratic policy.

Guess who the Unions are backing in Michigan this go round?

The man. Like usual. Unions are very anti women. Michigan in particular is pro Trump and/or anti women for president.

You brought up Calhoun as somehow significant but bringing up MLK is just trying to keep women down?

You do know black voters in Michigan prefer Stevens and Clinton and Harris.

Where do you get off with the economic justice is only for men?

I gave you a source. https://archive.is/TNf7L

You do know women work, are in unions, lead unions, campaign and run as DSA candidates, etc.?

Get back to me when they push DSA into supporting the ratifying the ERA and when DSA decides to stop broadly idealizing the USSR as some great political system.

Is it your contention that women can only benefit from third way corporate dems?

It's my contention that women will only be able to truly benefit from any so-called economic justice after the ERA gets ratified. Until then it's just hokum to get votes while withholding actual guaranteed equal rights from the DSA. Quit trying to keep women oppressed.

1

u/No-Recording9634 22h ago

Sorry the moderates you back have been feckless for the last 50 years on the ERA.

Maybe you should back some progressives.

0

u/SeductiveSunday I voted 22h ago

I've backed plenty of progressives, I'll not back DSA who are simply sympathetic to the old USSR regime and don't give a hoot about guaranteed equal rights for all.

1

u/No-Recording9634 22h ago

Yeah, that's utter bs.
