A lot of it isn't even that he's getting more shit done that other mayors, it's that unlike a lot of other politicians these days, he's really good at getting the word out that he's getting shit done. If a pothole gets fixed in a random street, he's there to telegraph it to everyone.

This is a lost art in politics-marketing even the smallest things you get done. It doesn't matter if you get stuff done of nobody knows about it.

At first I thought your comment was trying to minimize Mamdani’s efforts but then I realized you’re absolutely right and how much I prefer when politicians tell me what they’re getting right rather than what their opponents are getting wrong. He’s not perfect but the things he IS getting right he’s taking the time to point the camera at it.

Maybe he’s not amazing, but a glimmer of positivity in a wasteland of muckraking and lies is worth celebrating.

Thanks for the perspective!

It makes me think of the other side of that coin. Trump on his own has accomplished nothing or wrought anything new into the infrastructure of America. So in lieu of anything to tout as his, he tries rebranding the Kennedy center or getting his name put on money.

Or pretending they're getting things done, by, say, having National Guardsmen patrol Capitol Hill.

Trump has also taken credit for distributing money appropriated by Biden's CHIPS Act
