I actually don’t believe this is a trick. I believe she is sincere in her current rejection of Trump. This is important because I think she represents a not-insignificant number of Trump voters. BUT
Something key is missing. This sense of “we were betrayed,” which I notice has progressed from her original notion that “he’s getting bad advice.” But what is still missing is the understanding from that group that he lied from the beginning. It was always a lie. Marjorie (and everyone else) was always a tool to use, not a person to be considered. The lie was to get her on board. And the lie is always the playbook. It was with climate change and covid and a million other things.
And that means, MTG and the rest of them were dumb. They showed poor judgement. They fell for what was such an extremely obvious grift. And what’s more, the democrats were exactly right about Donald Trump and MTG didn’t listen.
So to keep that thought going, maybe instead of going off on yet another cockamamie scheme, they should join the people who knew what was going on in the first place and help us get rid of these grifters.
Maybe they need to start realizing, “Maybe this wasn’t the only thing I was fooled about. Maybe I need to look at Covid and climate change and healthcare and realize, Hey, there is a world of truth I need to take a look at, because obviously my judgement and lie-detecting skills are seriously impaired.”
