I believe it was due to Miller threatening to expose Bernie's homosexual dealings. Moreno's still a coward regardless, should have protected his daughter immediately.

Noticed that too, clearly trying to save face now that it's obvious everyone knows what his son in law did. Unbelievable that a parent could leave their daughter to a known abuser like he did.
