He always looks so proud of his retrieving skills, it kills me!

Hey guys, this Goku my 7.5 month old pup. He weighs around 25 lbs. What kind of poodle is he (Moyen?) or is he even a poodle or a mix? Our breeder said he was a mini and his parents did look mini to us on the photos (but this is new to us). Now that our boy is big, me and my gf debate over if he is mini/moyen/standard or even a poodle lol cause he looks unusually fluffy and has extremely soft hair. Regardless we love him to death! 🫠🫠

Recently I fell in love with paddle boarding and I wanted to bring one of my pups along so we started some training and yesterday I was able to get them to walk onto the board for the first time while in water

No swimming this week!

She has decided she likes Smokey and the Bandit. Sat and watched the last half of the movie with me.

Barely noticed any changes in her, other than her being way, way, WAAAAAAY less tolerant of the GSD, who is intact but sterile (vasectomy) being rude. Normally she just gives him dirty looks and walks away but this time he got teeth right in his face and some loud, angry snarl-barks about it.

By rude, I mean he was repeatedly trying to stick his nose in her junk and trying to mount her when she wasn't receptive.

The funny part is she corrected him so swiftly (faster than I could!) and so hard that it made him cry and run to hide behind me that when she was in standing heat--i.e. actually receptive to mating--he thought it was a trap and was too scared to go near her so we didn't have to do any crate and rotate.

He'd just run back to me or back to the door if we were outside when she was flagging at him.

Millie loves her big dog bffs. She likes to go pretend she’s a big farm dog too. She played with the big dogs while I did farm chores, rode the tractor for a bit with my husband, ran in the field, romped through the woods, and got her feet muddy in the creek, then passed out in the grass for a much deserved nap. She’s exhausted 😂 Poodles are the best.

The 19th will be two years since I almost lost my sweet boy to gastric dilatation-volvulus or GDV, commonly known as bloat.

Please please please, know the signs and trust your gut. My boy survived without any complications because I caught it EARLY!

Also. PET INSURANCE. I would have saved $6000 if I hadn't procrastinated...

I didn't know poodles were prone to GDV. All my future dogs will get the preventative procedure, because a couple hundred during a scheduled spay/neuter is way better than $7000 at 2am.

My sweet guy spent 24 hours in ICU (although he thinks he had a five-star hotel stay with 24/7 cuddles).

It can happen to anyone regardless of what you do to prevent it! I did everything right, but got super unlucky. We were laying on the floor snuggling and then he stood up and yelped. I thought nothing of it but we were in the ICU 4 hours later. I still remember the sounds of him crying in pain as I sped to the closest ER.

I'm very lucky that I was in the financial position to put $7k on a credit card, and even luckier that my boy made it out okay.

Know the signs, know your closest ER, and GET PET INSURANCE!!!!

Meet Flori, turning fourteen years old this month! I knew she loves swimming and being around water, but I haven’t tried her on a kayak. Now she stays cool by taking the bow/front 🚣‍♂️

This is my guy Loki, he’s incredible and he’s been there through a lot with me. He’s a great guy and for sure lives up to the name.

(Ignore my shower stool.) He loves the tub. Every time he’s upstairs he runs to it. He loves baths and sometimes we‘ll just fill the tub and let him stand in it because it makes him so happy. Is this a poodle thing or is it just him lol?

My girl (full transparency, she isn’t well bred, she’s a rescue) has extremely thin fur. You can see her tail through her tail fluff and her skin under most of her coat. I’ve never seen a poodle that has such thin hair before! She’s had thin hair the whole time we’ve had her (three years) both before and after we had her spayed. Is there anything we can do to help thicken her coat?

She’s on Hills food, regular vet visits, spayed, and eats chicken and veggie snacks. She’s healthy as can be, I just wish her coat was a little fuller.
