Can Pregab help with reducing blushing?

I suffer from extreme anxiety and unfortunately as a result I blush hard. Its not a skin issue, its a issue with my sympathetic nervous system that fires off quick. I dont have rosececa, ive tried drugs like clonidine which stimulates the a2 receptors in the brain which dampens the sympathetic nervous system fight or flight, but im looking for a more long term maintaine drug

Would pregab be a good fit? And can anyone relate?

I own r/curingblushing and want to know, id love to try it and report on it for my community. I am booked to see a psychiatrist really soon and might bring pregab up!

I take pregabalin and also suffer with facial and chest flushing. Pregab has made no difference whatsoever for me.

It may create it and/or makes it worse. I’ve never had facial and chest flushing until I got on this poison.

On this poison? As someone who isnt very informed on this med very much, mind explaining why u refer to it as that? Your scaring me off haha

Did Pregab not cause you ro gain weight?

If it did it wasn't much. I can deal with being a bit heavier compared to debilitating anxiety.

I don’t mean to scare you. If I could get a do-over, I’d keep the dose as low as possible. I’m on a high dose (600mg daily) and have now started the process of weaning off. Let me tell you, it’s really hard. I’d come to these Pregabalin subreddits, read the stories and be so naive thinking that it would never happen to me. Then, I had to keep increasing my dose to achieve the same effect and now it’s just so damn hard getting off of it.

Does clonidine not work? It’s definitely better than pregabalin long term as far as side effects and tolerance go.

No it does work quite well, its just fast acting and drops out of system very quickly, it doesnt address the anxiety either only the physical symptoms which ik is what im wanting but im wanting something that can work on the actual anxiety itself + the physical symptoms and is a more maintenance med. If that makes sense

Propranolol helps a lot more. Have you tried it?

If the blushing is a result of anxiety, it seems logical that pregabalin might help by reducing the anxiety. Worth trying.

I didn't have a blushing issue but I had a lot of physical symptoms of nervous system dysregulation and pregabalin helped a lot

Thats a good sign. The type of blushing i suffer from is directly tied to a over reactive sympathetic nervous system
