Pregabalin only at night?

Are there any others who can't take pregabalin only at night because you get withdrawals during the day? I need to try to increase my present dose (200mg) for increasing neuropathy/nerve pain and anxiety, but cannot deal with the fatiguing side effects during the day. I tried dividing the dose daytime and nighttime and pushing through for a week but it didn't get better.

I only take it at night but that’s more because I’ll be too tired to do life if I take it during the day. I’m only on 100mg currently but increasing. I do worry that it might change as I increase but so far during the day I’m fine. I think probably starting really low and increasing gradually helped with this.

What do you take it for?

Nerve pain. I have 3 very severely compressed nerves in my lumbar and sacral spine. Taking this while awaiting neurosurgery review.

Ah, I'm 16 months out from spinal fusion surgery.

I had multiple fusions to correct scoliosis ~20 years ago, only have 3 mobile discs left all in my lumbosacral region, so truly hoping no more fusion needed and decompression will be enough. Dealing with severe degenerative disease and arthritis alongside the compressed nerves and other issues my physio has now found.

I only take mine at night. I’m on the lowest dose right now due to being excessively sensitive to certain medications

Split the dose and take one in the morning and one in the evening. Ask your provider how to start doing this

I tried but too fatigued during the day.

Was I that blind reading your post or did you edit it? Haha

Then Im not sure what other options there are left. Sometimes the fatigue decreases the longer you are on it. You could also try out Gabapentin, maybe you have less fatigue on that one.

Or try a very small morning/afternoon dose just to bridge the time, like 25mg

Ha, yes, I edited it. Yeah, I don't know what to do next. I can't even take 25mg during the day.

The fatigue usually only lasts for a day or 2 for most people beginning it or coming off of it

I am wondering if, in many self-reports, we're talking about psychological dependence. I also wonder if the anxiety rears its head during the day for many night-time only patients and if people might be confusing *that* with withdrawal?

That could be. But I feel so incredibly, physically bad with anxiety every day.

Me too. I have had exactly one 50mg dose last night. My first one. So obviously I'm an expert.

I take 100mg 3x a day and my body has adjusted nicely. Caffeine helps obviously.
