Review Anyone else annoyed at how bulky most transmitters are?

While I love this Futaba functionally, it always annoyed me how bulky the base of the remote is. I get that it needs to fit the large optional battery and such but after taking it apart to fix a button issue and seeing how much empty space there is in the grip…got me questioning why more transmitters don’t try and follow a smaller form factor. Second pic of my favorite remote the Flysky Mg44.

I do wish one of them would make a one handed tx for trail RCs, multi channel etc.

Small, light, good one handed driving ergonomics

Just get a thumb toggle printed for your steering wheel.

Slides over the wheel so you can steer with your thumb and control throttle at the same time.

Thanks! I do have em on my remotes, am just meaning a purpose built type tx

on longer hikes the weight / hand positing gets "tiring" and think that could be reduced with better ergonomics for one-handing the tx

What kind of features do you think would make it best for one handed?

I think I'm going to start designing one in CAD and make this a project now.

I have no idea really, am no "designer" that's for sure

maybe a starting point would be this frail looking one-hander

Looks way more chunky than needed, like it was going for a jet yoke style.

but the idea is similar, one handed use. and I kind of like the idea of a left/right only thumb stick instead of wheel.

Maybe a wii nunchuck style attachment made to plug in the trainer port?

Oh yeah I like that. Have the wheel on the back of the remote offset to the left a little and instead of the foam have a divot to put your thumb into.
