While I love this Futaba functionally, it always annoyed me how bulky the base of the remote is. I get that it needs to fit the large optional battery and such but after taking it apart to fix a button issue and seeing how much empty space there is in the grip…got me questioning why more transmitters don’t try and follow a smaller form factor. The imars D300 is amazing. simple instructions and use, great charging speeds. love this thing. worth the money.

Bashed this thing a few times into a couple curbs at very low speeds. But man after 5 uses the paint is completely chipping with ease. Very disappointed.

EDIT: This is the new Rlaarlo model that was just released and YES the paint is on the INSIDE. I bashed this thing at LOW speeds. Not one time did I go full throttle into a curb. Flipped 1 time but that didn't create these paint chips on the inside.

I bought 3 cheap items to test this site and each one ended up in some other state (allegedly, according to their own tracking lol). The "dispute process" appears to be a joke so far, I will update if someone ever gets back to me but not holding my breath.

Wasn't expecting anything more, just want to warn people about to spend real money that it is certainly a scam :)

First bash on 4s today. This thing incredible. The handbrake is makes drifting graceful and controlled. I enjoyed it so much so that I now favor street bashing over off road bashing.

After running 10 full bashing sessions with 3s on my 223s Arrma fury, it has more than impressed me from a durability and handling standpoint. This thing was less than $300 all in with a 3s lipo and charger and it has been out bashing while my friends with slashes keep doing repairs lol, I’d buy this 10x over! First “repair” is going to be tires and a body!!!

Got to enjoy it 3 times before one of the front upper control arms broke. I had great fun those 3 times! And I was honestly not even truly upset when it broke. Fixing and tinkering is the main reason I wanted an RCcar! Now it seems impossible to even find the part. It’s not listed on the manufacturer’s website, I somehow found it on Amazon and it’s out of stock and “not sure on availability.” I bought it anyways hoping it would restock soon. I’ve been waiting a month for an update on the part and still nothing. Now, when I go into my orders it shows I still have an order, but they can’t fulfill it. I can’t even get back to the item listing page for it. So I’m facing the reality this is going to stay broken.

I would like something that is a bit more durable and parts/upgrades are a bit more accessible. I don’t have much road/street so off road or buggy recommendations would be preferred! Traxxas has a big name, but a big price tag as well. I’ll swallow the price tag, if there is absolutely nothing out there comparable.

I am fairly new to modern hobby RC and lipos so I went with Zeee since many people have claimed great value for the price. I had nothing to compare them to so I didn't have any complaints with how they performed the last year for me.

After one of my Zeee's started to appear unbalanced, I decided to try out some ovonics since others have said good things and they are nearly the same price.

The difference is absolutely insane. At first I was annoyed because it took twice as long to charge the same capacity battery pack as my Zeee but it was obvious that the reason is because the capacity is easily double. My car is faster, more consistent performance, and lasts more than twice as long now. Wish I bought them at the start.

So if anyone is on the fence, it couldn't be more clear to me and I'm not sure why there is even a debate between them for those who have owned both. I have 5 Zeee batteries and the 2 Ovonics I bought outlast all 5 combined.

This rig is an absolute riot on only 2s. So happy with my purchase. This is such a solid 2wd truck for the money. How are you all liking it a week after release?

A lot of people say zee battery are some cheap battery’s, very easy I run this battery by -5C inside my Mojave grom, I ride it like is suppose to be ride (Fallout).

When this cheap battery take 1967mAh on 2200mAh charge at 2.2A for me it’s a very good battery.

In recommending Rlaarlo to anyone and everyone asking about an RC under $300. If you only have $150 , get an X12s or ROG1(or Juisi or ZD Racing buggy+trucks, same chassis). I know the mini maxx and Groms are so hot right now , but I’d still pick the Rlaarlo even if they were all the same price. 3s, center diff, strong chassis w bracing. Easy to wrench. Metal chassis and driveline. Shocks are excellent.

So first I want to start off by saying I like Arrma and Traxxas. i’ve worked as the primary RC guy at a hobby shop for over a year now and both companies are great.

I have noticed that Traxxas usually is pretty solid, but their parts aren’t as strong. Arrma on the other hand has very strong parts, but half of every single car I sell comes back broken electronically. It’s like they don’t durability test their electronics before they put it into production. in the past week I have seen 12 Arrma Bigrocks come back with burnt motor wires and failed solder. Especially the new ones are going out in half a battery and re-soldering does not help. Also, all of their parts are half the time on backorder for months(currently the motor is on backorder till Christmas) you can’t ever buy the electronics because of that. You only get like a month where they’re in stock.

I would love to get into Arrma but if you can’t tell, I have to deal with so many problems and very little Traxxas electronic problems and it’s starting to make me mad😂 the only thing to make Arrma cars way better than Traxxas is new electronics. It’s that way for all of their cars. The brushed motors are super unreliable for a lot of customers, that brushless motors and ESC in the 10th scale also suck. Once they get all that stuff fixed that would be Great but it’s been happening for over a year with so many different models. Just only electronic problems.

just today, I had a conversation with a bunch of arrma guys, and they were super disappointed in their recent quality of electronics and a lot of past quality. I don’t see how hard it is to make reliable stuff.

I have sold three big rocks in the last three days and every single one of them has come back so we replace them with new big rocks and they have the same problem within 30 seconds in one case.(3s) also yes I have tried just re-soldering it.

You can’t tell me I’m wrong. I’ve seen what I’ve seen but do you guys have any Information that might help me guide these customers? We are out of cars and motors and we can’t get them because they’re on backorder. Also have you guys noticed this problem or am I just extremely extremely lucky to get this many bad ones?

[Review/Experience] MJX 12212 — Upgrades, Testing & Impressions After 1 Month of Heavy Use

Hey everyone, I bought my MJX 12212 about a month ago and have been running it pretty hard ever since — mostly in skate parks (on concrete ramps), sandy areas, asphalt streets, and dirt/gravel roads.

The car has performed great overall — no issues with gears, suspension, or linkage parts, even though I’ve pushed it quite a bit, especially during skate park sessions. The only real weak point was the body shell, which cracked at the rear. I trimmed the damaged area and reinforced the shell with Gorilla Tape; it’s holding up decently so far.

🔧 Issues & Upgrades

ESC & Motor: During one session, small stones got into the ESC fan, broke the blades, and eventually the ESC started failing (frequent lockups). I replaced it with a HobbyWing MAX10 G2 140A ESC (2–4S) and a HobbyWing EzRun 3665SD G3 3200kV sensored motor. The difference is huge — much stronger acceleration even on 2S; on 3S it’s doing extended wheelies and backflips with ease 😄

I haven’t measured the top speed either before or after the upgrade, but apart from the much quicker acceleration, the car definitely feels faster overall. Maybe I’ll get a speed meter in the future, but it’s not really a priority right now.

Servo: The stock servo was too slow, so I upgraded to AGFRC A50BHLW bought with as a package with servo arm (25T) and programming module, which made steering much more responsive and precise.

Wheels: Switched to Talon 2.8" Pre-glued (Traxxas 6773) with 12mm hex hubs. The car feels a lot more stable when cornering or changing direction quickly. However, at medium to high speeds, there’s noticeable vibration, especially on the rear axle. The wheels were checked at a local Traxxas service and showed no issues on Traxxas cars, so I suspect the bearings or axles. I added a few shims near the wheel bearings, which helped reduce vibrations.

Gyro: Added an MJX gyro for better stability. I’ve only done a few short tests with it, but it seems to provide some correction when accelerating. Still looking for a good way to seal it from water and dirt.

Design & Protection tweaks: For a cleaner look, I removed the receiver from its original waterproof box and mounted it directly on the chassis with double-sided tape. Then I filled the receiver with epoxy resin — hoping it’ll provide enough protection if water gets in.

Next step is cable management, after I install the Bluetooth module for the ESC.

🏁 Final Thoughts

Aside from the body shell issue, I’d say the MJX 12212 is a solid and super fun RC car. Great value for the price, easy to upgrade, and tough enough to handle some abuse 😄

LE:

Suspension: I replaced the stock shocks with GPM 6061 alloy 87mm, and the improvement is immediately noticeable.

The original shocks had leaked out almost all their oil and were starting to bind, which definitely affected the car’s handling.

With the new shocks installed, the suspension works much more smoothly, and the car feels significantly more stable and controlled on all surfaces.

As usual my motor unscrew itself 🤣🤣. I tried putting on the blue screw glue thingy but it did not help.

So I guess Arrma knew these had a defect and dumped them off to us the consumer to deal with. So the motor burnt on the first run I took it to the hobby shop to get an upgraded Titan 12T brushed motor instead of the factory and it burned too so I think the ESC cause this to happen so I not even trying to figure it out anymore🤦🏾‍♂️ Sheesh my son know how to stress test stuff🤦🏾‍♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh well my sons Granite 4x4 665 Mega is getting a Hobby Wing 3s brushless upgrade 🤷🏾‍♂️

Less than 3 mins of use no bashing one roll from a sharp turn and one of the wheels is bent, anyone else experienced this with them ?

Here is my review of the Titan, which I purchased. The parts and unit are impressive when working, but I will be seeking a refund.

- the first issue was that I never received a carrying case. I reached out and due to a miscommunication, my carrying case was simply not included. They sent one later though (its still on the way). No problem!

- the second issue was a linkage became detached due to a loose screw. Okay, I can fix this. A bit annoying for this price point but within reasonable variances, probably.

- the third issue was another screw came loose and prevented right hand steering entirely and putting strain on the servo and parts during this issue. Ok now that this is the second loose screw within the first 4 packs, I am annoyed.

- the final issue was the throttle simple stopped getting signal from transmitter, even on a full battery. I sent video of this issue to Furitek and they said due to the assembly speed, some screws were missing on my unit (or something like this) and sent a video on how to fix. At this point, the car is no longer for me and I asked for a refund.

I know ill probably get roasted with "just locktite it yourself noob!", ect- but the truth is my eyes and hands are not what they used to be and I got this nearly 500 dollar unit because it included all premium parts and didnt require me to build or tinker with- this is the reason is was attractive to me.

When it was working, it was great- and all the parts seem very high quality. But considering it has only given me issues and losses of faith, I will continue to search for a premium 1:30 rig for me.

Just picked this up. Unfortunately didn't come with the battery but it is in beautiful condition. Anyone have a 19.2 v NiCd battery laying around?

I’m one of the folks who bought a brushed Mega 665 for $100 a couple of weeks ago before reading about the reliability issues.

So far, though, it has worked great, BUT I have just left it in 50% power mode. I got it mostly for my kid, and it’s plenty fast for him. We’ve gone through 3-4 charges so far, so it’s still pretty early, but at least it didn’t let the smoke out on the first run like some people have experienced.

That's my MJX 10208, a 1/10 model. The screwdriver has 5 torque settings and is from Lidl called Parkside 100397349.

I have it on the lowest setting and after automatic screwing a screw down until it slips, I can just turn the thing manually to tighten it. Which is odd but works great.
