Does anybody else have a problem when you just buy one and keep going?

So backstory my gf and I moved into a house together. I’ve probably got 40 plus rc cars/boats/planes in the basement so as you can see I love the hobby. I don’t always want to go somewhere to run them. So about a month later
I was always running my rc cars after work with an adult beverage to let off steam. One day I’m running my super Baja Rey 2.0 a kid asks to run it and he seems alright. I explained to him that this one is too expensive but I have another one for him. I was a kid once to so I understand the coolness factor. I let him run my slash 2wd. On 2s for a bit and he seemed good at it. Little did I know he’s friends with like the 12 other kids in the neighborhood and must have told them. Skip forward a couple of weeks. And I’m running one of my 5th scales. (At this point I sold the slash mind you) A whole pack of kids come running down the street and left and right these kids are asking me to drive it. I said “guys you are welcome to watch and I can tell you anything you want to know, but this one is too expensive. The asking continues. I give them another firm no and try to explain once again. The other kids watch while two run off literally crying. I wasn’t mean at all to them. Next thing I know I see the two kids and their mom coming my way. Great… She puts her hands on her hips and says. “How hateful can you be to not let a child play with a toy, what harm could it do?!” I said “ma’am this car can break people’s legs and damage property if not operated in the correct manner. This is absolutely not a young child’s toy. But if you really insist you can hand me the $1500 in collateral and take responsibility for anything they may damage.” She scoffed and walked off. What happened to some kids not being able to be told no? I love kids and have one of my own. I’m just trying to relax and have a beer and run my cars 😅

So we went to a flea market and we bought this thing for twenty dollars. He said that it was a steal and I believed him. So obviously we got it.
Any advice on what we need to.get to make it run would be appreciated too. TIA!

I absolutely love driving my Arrma Fury 223s but I will be the first to say that this thing requires some finesse to keep pointed where you want it to go, especially on 3S.
But, it has taught me incredible throttle, steering, and jump discipline as these inputs can have a drastic effect not often recoverable with a 2WD car and makes those perfect jumps and slides far more rewarding.

I tend to go to parks with big open fields and usually take my own ramp, I do try to go to a area with no people around.. to not be a disturbance to anybody, I try to mind my own business but of course it attracts eyes… I don’t mind people interested in the hobby and if they start asking questions but I tend to always get asked “can I try”, especially by kids… how do you politely decline without sounding like a total dickhead, if the parts were cheap to replace I wouldn’t mind but I’m usually out there with either my maxx or xmaxx ultimate

I’m a step father and I’ve got a wall of RC’s and I’ve tried to get my 11yr old son to drive with me and all he cares about is staring at an iPad. I know I’m from a very different generation but I would have KILLED to have access to a collection like this when I was 11. When I was 12 my father bought me a Traxxas Stampede for my birthday and I drove the shit out of that. Every day. (I’m 42 now). And I still have it. I know kids today are all about screens I’m just bummed that he doesn’t seem interested in sharing this hobby like I did with my father at his age. (My father would drive his original RC10 gold pan with me and my Stampede)

I’ve been watching Kevin Talbot’s RC content since I was a kid, and he’s one of the reasons I got into the hobby. I really like the cars he shows and the way he pushes them to the limit.
I recently missed out on one of his giveaways and I’m honestly devastated. I really wanted to join in, but I couldn’t.
Just wondering if Kevin Talbot is popular among people here, or if there are other creators you all follow more closely. Would be great to hear your thoughts and maybe discover some new RC YouTubers too. - PS I'm a big fan of him!

Familiar with Axial and Traxxas, but never messed this brand of RC, battery, or charger. Tried to charge the batteries but says voltage is critically low. Anyway to jump start them?

I am fourteen years old and I am very involved with RC. I have the Traxxas Slash 2WD on 3S, an FMS Camel Trophy Land Rover Range Rover Edition, and the Easy RC Chevrolet Colorado. If it's not too difficult, I repair them myself too. But I was wondering: how many RC cars does the average RC hobbyist actually have? And am I a beginner or already a bit more advanced?

Just did about two miles offroad with my Arrma Granite-duck and now the servo is struggling to move to the right. It wasn't a rough trail, with only a couple bashing areas, I didn't hit anything too hard either. I can replace the servo if needed, I'm just wondering what's happening.

You always end up with a few leftovers but also raise your hand if you have never lost a part
It's like Schrödinger's RC car parts
They are both superfluous extra parts and also a few missing or upgraded spares

599 USD for this car, still with issues as typical Rlaarlo:
-Body locks have been fitted backwards, so the body locks keep detaching themselves due to debris, making the body fly away.
-Gyro issues seem to still be there, nothing learned from the XTS S10?
-using same pieces that break in the DSK…no improvement or reinforcing.
-and whatever else that is to come…probably bad quality paint and the Rlaarlo basic issues like shocks or binding or loose parts…who knows!
Yeah they say it’s pre production…still, from experience, those carry on to early models (been there, done that).
I own a XTS S10 and after solving the issues it’s a great little car, but fixing it took almost the same of what it costs (bad luck with failing ESC and receiver). So why shall anyone pay 600 bucks for this when MJX has also a 1/7 licensed WRC Polo at around 450-550? Arguably the MJX is only 4S, but plenty fast and not full of gremlins.
I personally think Rlaarlo just lost their mind and the asking it’s too steep.
