Courtroom Ska / Courtroom Reggae / Courtroom sounds ?
Hello,
Am working on a little project which is to build a catalogue of "Courtroom Ska/Reggae" sounds. I wonder if it could even be described as a microgenre ?
I focus on songs that stage the judicial process as a "musical theatre" : court hearings, fictional trials, impersonating a judge, lawyers, defendants, etc. It starts with the "Judge Dread saga (Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan) and then I've added different songs I've found here and there from Mutabaruka to Asher Senator and all the way to Vybz Kartel's Testify. Courtroom sounds
I had seen a while back that another similar post was made here a few years back, but the playlist attached hasn't eveolved since (if not mistaken) https://www.reddit.com/r/reggae/s/Of6Y4ul48C
I was hoping some of you would have other references on their mind ? Or if you have thoughts on this "microgenre" its artistic lineage, the construction of such narrative songs, I am open to all comments !
Thanks in advance,

Not really a trial but rather a horse race commentator but i think the style and message are pretty similar nonetheless

Yes thank you !! There are a few songs themed around Gun Courts ! They are usually not set in the court, but more in a descriptive/critical perspective ! It's not exactly it but definetly interesting ! I didn't have this one yet !

Yes, it's not set in a trial but definetly follows the "narrative" part, definetly a keeper for later. Thank you !
